The General Defender Office seeks to obtain accredited specialists in the field of restoration of peers to work as main members in a government grant to encourage the societal treatment of individuals who suffer from drug use or mental health disorders. Poilis recovery specialists help identify and connect individuals who have appropriate recovery supports, develop the motivation for recovery, and create and preserve advanced lifestyles. These are the funding positions that are currently funded until September 2026.

Poilizers are the main members of the Grant Team. It provides peer recovery support services for individuals with drug abuse and data collection assistance. This position is funded by a grant from the Justice Assistance Office, and it is expected to continue until September 2026.

Initial duties and responsibilities include:

● Cooperation with lawyers and social workers to develop and implement the individual service plan for each participant in the project.

● Helping participants to move in social services systems in society

● Helping at the drug and alcohol treatment center for individuals inside and outside the prison

The contractors who work in an agency covered under the state employee program and the health and luxury advantages program for retirees may be a current employment contract and work 30 hours or more per week (or on average 130 hours per month) qualified to obtain coverage of health benefits supported by themselves. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25 % of medical coverage and prescription premiums, including any of the qualified recipients you have recorded. Maryland will support the remaining 75 % of the cost of these benefits.
