Boston College libraries seek Secretary of private groups To develop groups of rare and unique materials that focus on ideas and ideas that have contributed to the formation of cultural cultures and societies, especially those related to the distinctive Boston University of Jesuit, the Catholic and historical intellectual heritage and its historical origins that serve migrant societies, especially those in Irish origin.

The coordinator with his colleagues from BC libraries and faculty will be placed on collecting opportunities to support traditional and emerging fields in teaching, learning and research, helping to formulate and connect priorities and collect successes.
The coordinator will cultivate relationships with donors and current and potential together, rare members of trade and manuscripts, and professional and scientific societies. The coordinator will also contribute to the interpretation and promotion of Burns Library groups by organizing programs and events, and through presentations, conversations and publications. The coordinator may also be asked to help create physical exhibitions, communicate online, facilitate educational sessions, and responses to reference questions. In addition, the coordinator may be invited to cooperate in enhancing the discovery and benefit of the Burns Library groups through digital scholarships and the selection of materials for digitization.
The coordinator is conducting research on potential acquisitions to assess its importance and importance for the goals of the Burns Library collection and negotiate the conditions favorable to acquire them. The coordinator understands and applies advanced legal and moral considerations in favor of the original and intellectual property and privacy rights. Coordinators support professional standards, responsible and design with complex tasks for building primary source groups. requirements
- Master’s degree in library science, information, or advanced degree in academic discipline related to Burns Library groups.
- At least two years of experience working with rare books, manuscripts or archives.
- Reading knowledge from Latin, Greek, Irish, or European desired modern languages.
Salary and application information
Title and salary are appropriate to the relevant experience based on the following addresses and recruitment ranges:
- A large library secretary: $ 76.050 – 95,050 dollars; 5+ years of related professional experience
- Library Secretary: $ 68,950 – 86,200 dollars; 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
- Participant Library Secretary: $ 62,350 – $ 77,950; 1-3 years experience
