Job title:
Do you want to apply your skills in digital structural design or sports improvement to help combat the climate crisis? Join the fast structures project and help us develop the next generation of materials saving buildings.
We have an exciting new opportunity at the Mechanical, Space and Civil Engineering School for Researcher Assistant, and working on the interface between advanced improvement algorithms and structural design. We are looking for a post -doctoral researcher with high motivated and skilled to join our internationally recognized group. You will join an active community of professional researchers early working on a set of topics through structural improvement, who are safely included in the wider school. The previous work in the group has produced tools adopted by academic and industry, such as Layopt applications and an additional component of Rhino/Grasshopper, as well as award -winning publications.
The fast structures project treats the main barriers to absorb the current methods to find structural forms that provide materials. Current methods often fight with problems that involve a large number of possible download scenarios, where critical conditions are intuitive or even dependent on design. Moreover, current styles often generate highly complex designs that are a challenge to achieve. We will develop a framework to address these issues.
You will cooperate with specialized research software engineers, industrial partners and colleagues in the research group to improve and implement these new improvement methodologies. You may have experience in improving models or improving topology, and you want to explore how to use sports methods to improve arithmetic performance and obtain perfect results globally. Or you may be an expert in sports improvement that seeks to use your experience to generate a real effect and build a more sustainable future.
As part of this role:
- You will develop skills in formulating and implementing improvement models for structural engineering problems, especially problems with construction and dealing with many loading situations.
- Advanced improvement techniques will use and explore how the properties of these problems and structure can be used to get quickly and reliable solutions.
- You will gain experience in developing cooperative software, and working with other members of the team to ensure the long -term ability of the produced symbols.
- You will cooperate with our industry partners to test tools in practical scenarios, while giving the opportunity to see a concrete effect of your business.
- High -quality research outputs, including academic papers and directions on which practitioners focus on, will also have the opportunity to spread your work in national and international conferences.
