Power duties
This position is the position of a professional library secretary within the library services unit in the archives of Maryland State, and is involved in obtaining government resources and publications and government publications as well as published materials. This position is reports to the director of the library services.
The focus of this position is on acquisition, indexing, and the preservation of reports and publications of the state, the boycott and the local government. This position will also support the archives through strategic acquisition and classification of secondary printed materials that complement the work of archives and/or records that the archives keep, for employees and public use in the archive search room. In addition to indexing and regular assembly duties, the situation will help in reference duties in the search room in the archive and distant services, especially with related inquiries related to government publications or library holdings. This situation also helps in many awareness programs for students and educational, such as the architectural training program in Maryland.

Developing and implementing the housing and preservation plan and access to the physical government publications
– Choose, acquire, and material statements to the MSA library, and to develop and coordinate a plan as needed. Implementing original indexing and copying. It recommends and implement strategies to improve the acquisition of government publications; It maintains the catalog of government publications and the use of best practices in the field of library services
– Maintains government publications, files and records of library management, and documenting practices and procedures. Maintain indexing and use statistics and helps in writing reports on the scope and functions of the library services unit. Maintains and updates the evidence.
– Provides reference services. Employees and sponsors help use government publications and library, and answers bibliographic questions on Maryland themes. Research selected topics in the Maryland government and history for executives, upon request. It provides loan services between libraries for employees.
– Participates in the work group within the agency, and meets with sisterly state agencies and others throughout the profession, as he called, to discuss and address private topics and concerns such as strategic planning, reports writing, joint projects, grants. Provides recommendations to the director of library services and/or the IT department on the necessary technical resources.
The minimum qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited secondary school or possession of a high school equation certificate.
Experience: Six years of experience in professional work in working with public records.
Notes:
1. Candidates can replace possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two professional archival experience of the required experience.
2. Candidates may replace academic credit from an accredited college or university at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year for the required experience.
3. Candidates can replace two years of experience in rating the Archives Assistant for Required Education and up to four years of the required experience.
4- Candidates may replace the military service experience in the American armed forces as an officer commissioned in the categories of archives or symbols of specialization in the archives in the library and the field of archives on an annual basis for the required experience.
Required or favorite qualifications
Experience in providing reference services, assisting employees and sponsors in using government publications and library, and answering bibliographic questions on Maryland’s topics.
Special requirements
Employees may be asked to raise up to 50 lbs when standard charges arrive and climb stairs. Employees in this classification should be cautious while recovering and replacing heavy sizes of library shelves, especially when using library stairs. Employees may work in a dizziness and may be required to work on Saturdays.
