Kiel University (It is also referred to as CAU) Uses research, teaching and transmission of science to face major challenges in our time in health, environmental, cultural, nutrition and energy change. In doing this, it guarantees peace and maintains ways to live for future generations. Cau uses responsible measures to ensure that scientific discoveries are transferred to all sectors of our society through multidisciplinary thought – regardless of short -term trends – as they are combined into political, economic and social decisions that aim to secure peace and prosperity.

When founded in 1665, CAU put itself the slogan “Pax Optima Rerum: PEACE is the most valuable assets.” This maximum is applied today as it was more than 350 years ago. The university wants to follow this main idea and contribute to creating a pure peaceful world in which everyone lives freely and comfortably. A world in which the environmental treatment also allows respect for future generations to enjoy the same benefits.

Cau’s mission is:

Research and teaching that contributes to peace, prosperity, and preserving a free, pluralistic society, which addresses the challenges we face. It is based on strong specializations. It requires multidisciplinary cooperation. They deal with issues through disciplines. We find solutions to urgent problems today and their implementation with stakeholders from society, industry and politics.
