About the role
Bath University hosts the International Center for Study (ISC) To study civil education and international citizenship (ICCSIt is a major comparative research program that explores how young people are ready in 27 countries for citizenship. Funded by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEAICCS informs educational policy and practice all over the world.
We are looking for a research colleague to join this internationally recognized center and contribute to the search for global education systems.
This role focuses on the development and implementation of the 11th grade unit of ICCS, and the study of civil learning among older teenagers, especially in vocational education paths. You will participate in international comparison research, apply advanced quantitative methods to analyze data groups on a large scale and create visions that affect politics worldwide.
The main responsibilities include:
- Leading international research: Conducting high -quality studies with a special focus on how to form vocational education throughout Europe, civil knowledge of youth and its positions and participation.
- Advanced data analysis: Application methods like IRT, SEM and MG-CFA, using R, Python or MPLUS.
- Global Cooperation: Coordination of expert meetings and preserving partnerships with international collaborators, governments and academic institutions.
- Research leadership: Development of conceptual frameworks, evaluation tools, analytical strategies, support for financing applications, and contributing to the ISC research agenda.

About you
We strive to obtain an enthusiastic research colleague with experience in CIVIC and Citizenship and experience with widely wide rating data sets like ICCS. It should be proactive, cooperative and committed to academic excellence.
You will have:
- Qualifications: Doctorate in education, social sciences, applied statistics, or policy analysis, with experience in civil education, citizenship or related fields.
- Research experience: A strong conceptual knowledge of civil education and citizenship, a strong understanding of vocational education systems (especially in Europe), and efficiency in advanced quantitative methods.
- Communication and leadership: Books and excellent display, as well as strong organizational skills for complex project management.
- Cooperative and innovative mentality: Commitment to teamwork, moral research, and innovation, with a record of building and financing networks.
