Climate Climate Governance Researcher (fixed period) at Cambridge University

Applications are invited to a climate governance researcher to contribute to the European Union research project entitled “accelerate climate work: moving towards low emissions, flexible future” (acclimatization).
The general goal of the adaptation project is to achieve national and international integrated strategies reinforcing climate development and low emissions. Adeling will improve transparency, consistency, clarity of emissions limit and create appropriate tools by developing an evaluation framework for mitigation obligations. Work from bottom to top with national experts in an international consortium that includes high -emission countries from the Americas, Asia and Europe, as well as the low -mission countries from West Africa, adapting will determine the needs of specific contributions at the national level (NDCS) and long -term strategies. Focus will be on the sufficiency of fairness and feasibility, as well as the needs to improve the current policies and measures to achieve NDCS already and long -term goals.
Along with VRIJE Universiteit Brssels, Cambridge leads the traveler work package to enhance international cooperation. As part of this work, the project will develop an evaluation framework for assessing the quality of mitigation obligations, studying the effects of global stocks on subsequent NDCs, evaluating the capabilities of international cooperative initiatives chosen to increase effectiveness, and assess the effects of European Union for International Cooperation. The researcher’s colleague is expected to contribute to these tasks, as well as the participation of Cambridge in the adapting project in general.

Candidates must have a doctorate (submitted or almost presented at the time of request) in the relevant social sciences by virtue of European climate change and/or international.
The appointment at the research assistant level depends on obtaining a doctorate degree, or doctorate, equivalent research. Those who have provided a doctorate will be appointed but have not yet obtained a search assistant level, which will be modified to the research partner once a doctorate is awarded.
Candidates must provide evidence of the possibility of searching and publishing at the highest level, in addition to a strong interest in participating in the experimental and connected research. They should also enjoy excellent communication skills and show interest and experience working with stakeholders, including other researchers, policy makers, NGOs and societies.
