We have an exciting opportunity at the University of Southampton for a mechanical maintenance engineer to work within a high skill team, and we have our own workshop to implement the site’s reforms, including grinding, moving and welding. One of our strengths is training, to help support your future aspirations, there are always opportunities to expand your horizons. We are working through a group of mechanical plants including HVAC and BMS, boilers, colds, cooling towers, auxiliary systems and our CHP networks.

We are a research university with a variety of different real estate that ranges from specialized laboratories, clean rooms, internationally advanced research facilities, sports and food offering ports, accommodation halls and offices. This extends over a vast property, this role will play a vital role in supporting the planning of its planned maintenance and interacting with mechanical systems throughout the university, to maintain the operation of real estate.

You will have excellent technical and communications skills, with the ability to plan and manage your work burden. You will need to be positive with Cana Can Statane and ProCets Solver to be able to manage a mixture of planned maintenance and interaction to ensure that work is connected on time and a high level. You will be able to work in a team environment.

The successful candidate will be held qualified for the city, unions, and/or minimum level 3 in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline, and has successfully completed mechanical vocational training or a similar training program. You will be aware of health and safety legislation, understanding risk assessments, method data, and how they are applied to planned maintenance and interaction. You will have experience in maintenance in a commercial or similar environment.

A complete driver’s license is needed and participating in the hours outside the Rota range.
