Professor of the Little Princess in Oncology for Children at Oxford University
Oxford University seeks to appoint a young princess for children’s oncology, a very prominent position in the Pediatrics Department. The Little Princess Trust presented a generous gift to the university, which enabled the creation of a new legal chair within the department. The concentration of this extraordinary new role is to enable the post -sized contribution to understanding the specific molecular and cellular processes that lead to children’s cancer and improve their treatment. The post is available as a clinical or non -clinical position. If you are appointed to a clinical post, you should be a medical qualified and will be a doctor in NHS consultant or an honorary consultant level.
The ideal candidate will have a distinguished international bus record for research and a convincing vision to develop a competitive research program in oncology for children, as well as strategic driving skills to push this vision forward. With either a transaid or basic scientific background, it includes relevant research fields, but not limited to, immunology of cancer, molecular biology of cancer, cancer forecasting, early detection, new therapeutic curricula, and computer biology related to the creation of cancer and development. They will also play a major role in enhancing a cancer research environment at Oxford University, which includes Oxford cancer, Oncology Department, the MRC Weatherall Monitoring Institute, and Ludwig Cancer Research.
It will show a history of innovative research and cooperation with the national and international influence, and perhaps in partnership with clinical units and industry.
The post will be placed in the Pediatrics Department and will also be accompanied by Kelogg College. You will contribute to the college administration as a member and a secretary in its ruling body. It will be part of a vital and intellectual stimulant research community that works at the highest international levels of research and publications, and will be able to reach the excellent research facilities offered by Oxford.
