Part 1, providing a special water wheel

Most people familiar with the 100 -mile Western countries have heard about the tradition of memorial training that had been working for several decades. For me, it was my first version a few weeks before I opened my first western state in 2007. I was so excited that, on the first day, I ran from Robinson Fallat to Forest Hill, according to the group’s plan, but I continued to the river in Rocke Choki, for 47 miles. They studied well, a good bonk and a late return to Forest Hill … then, she adhered to today’s plan 2 and 3, a total of 88 miles for the weekend (That was my first year of blogging).

After that, I provided a long -term jogging tradition for 3 days, albeit without traveling and logistical services for driving and staying in Forest Hill. Thus saving more time to work on my first job …

  • 2008 It was crazy with 126 miles 50 miles, OHLONE and PG & E in Rancho San Antonio, so that he was practicing the steps of MAX in preparation for the second West West Running, only for that edition that was canceled due to major forest fires.
  • in 2009 The weekend was named: BawsMdWetc (Gulf Day training camp in the United States Day of souvenirs). 122 Miles Hilly Miles (Mission Peak X6, Quicksilver 50 Mile, PG & E X4).
  • in 2010Before my third and last western case, I only reduced two days and 49 miles (Mission Peak and PG & E Reperts).
  • 2011 It was completely different with a focus on rapid work in front of Masters World in SACRARENTO (the eighth in 10K but 2 medals of the marathon and individual bronze and the leading American team for the gold team).
  • 2014 He had only 87 miles, on the first day (Black Mountain), then flat.
  • in 201690 miles for three days and some good heat training before Tahoe Reem Trail 100 (the largest failed event for me with 3 DNFS total …).
  • in 201780 miles although I was mostly focused on recovery.

I have been overcome past years due to my major injury (2018 and 2024), but I do not construct seriously, at least as allowed by the articulated cartilage, with a great goal in mid -June, Cool Moon 100. I also participated in the past few weeks, I like to run the race distance for two or 3 days.

On Saturday, I ran to the Black Mountain summit across the classic road that she shared in many old publications, Montello Road. For the sake of time, I will only include the paths that I went after, to return to the title of this post. After the first passed at the top-know, this is only 2,800 feet …-Bella Vista went down and then even again on Indian Creek, below the Bella Vista and then below the Canyon Trail along the Stevens Creek Canyon road. Then on Lookout, Coyote Ridge, all the way to the Seven Springs in Fremont older, then home, along the PROSPECT railway paths to McClellan. Nice tale: At the bottom of the seven Springs, Rangers was trying to pick up radar bikes. They got me in 14 miles per hour, Duh! I was 29 miles in the 35 -mile race! We had good laughter and chat.

So, back to the title: At the top of the Monttello road, I deviated to the left on the Water Wheel path, which is one of my favorite preferences, and I rarely see anyone there as it takes a permit on the small amount. Favorite because, especially in hot days, there is a very fresh spring that usually extends late in the summer. Well … to panic, a tree fell on the composition of the weak plumbing that I knew more than 10 years ago. I will have to check my friend and volunteer, Chuck Wilson, which I can contact to see if it can be fixed. Be one of the few users, I am ready to give a hand …

Overall, a great day with a lot of stop the way to enjoy the simplicity of life. During hard work as Coros can witness. In this fly, I even included some clips while running on the Canyon Trail, to better explain the speed. But I agree, hold the camera with one hand while taking care of two bottles in the other, and does not absorb any installation. You have been warned! 😉 The video also includes a Water Spring, a new home on Montello with a great show, healthy tanks and more scenes.

A great day that there is with a lot of tables still flowing strongly, and some flowers have cooler weather, still. You may miss heat training on the cold moon, but at least I feel better with some hill. More for day 2 and 3, next!

Note: More pictures. First, it is still not a path but it makes climbing the dam (Stevens Creak) is much easier, almost a rug!

The tank is still almost full, as it remains a good flow of water from Stevens Creek and feeds on tables.

This new brand house is high in Monttello, with a great view!

The fallen tree, uprooted recently than I could say.

Above the Pacific Ocean fog.

Black Mountain #2

The summit of monitoring.

Seven spring episode, above Cubino.
