About the role

There is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sussex as its higher strategic commercial partner, which leads to providing services to support strategic business development initiatives. This new role will provide experts and strategic financial support to the university’s executive director, ensuring the delivery of the university’s 2035 strategy and achieving the goals of sustainable financial performance.

It will recommend the financial strategy and planning, and take a leading role in determining strategic job opportunities, developing proposals cooperatively with service and business managers to determine priorities by the university’s CEO, and provide financial sustainable business plans for implementation. It will primarily support the development of new job opportunities, but also to improve the performance of current initiatives and projects. It will work through the governor, clarify effective relationships with executives and cooperation with business leaders from vocational services and academic colleges, to support the continuous development of a set of income generation activities and services, based on the provision and activity of basic higher education and around it.

You should be parallel, confident, able to work effectively with senior leaders and those who have both operational responsibilities. You should be an enthusiastic collaborator that embraces work on the team and sees value in the contribution of others, including adult business partners of academic colleges, professional services departments and other senior colleagues in professional services departments. You will be a decisive partner, as it provides support to senior managers and business leaders, who must make effective financial decisions, and will have an effective role in building literacy and excellent practice in the field of financial management throughout the university, along with his colleagues from financial business partners.

You must have an analytical mind and be experienced in providing financial information to make decisions in a brief form and digestion by a non -financial audience. You will be aware of the development and use of reporting tools and data -based decision -making operations. This must include a high level of efficiency to build work situations and determine models to support decisions to obtain specific strategies and initiatives.
