And adapting to expand the chasm in expectations, the job seekers who enter the holiday season are chasing stability and professions in the long run, but employers still see this as a temporary employment window.

According to Job Platform, two out of three job seekers on the Job Platform platform, while more than half of the employers (53 %) admit that three out of four are temporary festive employees, a number of 7 % from last year. 16 % of the employers say their festive employment is short -term.

“The festivals in India have always brought jobs along with the celebrations. But today’s workers are thinking differently – they want stability and the future, not just fast income,” said Sashi Kumar, the administrative director of India.
The report, which runs to April to September 2025, found that three quarters of the festive workforce are temporary.

However, job seekers look at these openings as possible gates for job building opportunities. When asked about their priorities, 69 % of workers said that financial stability and fixed wages were the most important concerns, followed by 61 % of those who highlighted job security, and 37 % who preferred long -term advantages such as the prosecution box. On the contrary, only 7 % of the festive rewards and only 5 % are concerned with a paid leave.

This shift emphasizes how the festive functions are increasingly being considered as step -by -strips instead of fast vehicles, with many workers resigned early if they do not see any professional promise. This trend was particularly visible in retail, hospitality and travel, which also struggles with the high number of outputs and fast exit this year. On the other hand, employees may only provide short -term contracts, but they are demanding long -term capabilities of tenants. Nearly half they say that art or artistic knowledge is the most difficult to find it. Besides 41 % of the leadership leadership and administrative skills, 29 % indicate cooperation and teamwork, 26 % of communication skills stronger and 13 % highlighting digital literacy. This indicates that the festive employment is to raise the skills ladder, and is no longer confined to the lines of confrontation or roles. Kumar added, “This gap is between what workers want and what employers offer is the place where the real change should happen.”

Despite this gap, the market expectations appear optimistic. More than two of every five employers (43 %) say they are planning to employ more workers in the celebration season more than last year, where e -commerce, logistics, retail and hospitality trade increases employment.

While referral and wages bonuses are used in the upper hour to attract candidates, these privileges lack the benefits that depend on the stability that workers are increasingly searched for. Labor employees are actively exploring marketing professionals, handover drivers and store managers to meet the demand for the peak season.
