About this team and the role:

We are looking for a director of public policy and US government relations to join the dynamic global policy team to support the work of Mozilla.
In this role, you will participate with the owners of government interests, industry partners and civil society, and call for public policy positions that are in line with our mission and support for the official in technology. The company’s voice will be in major policy discussions and play an important role in building relations with policy makers and organizational bodies. You will also cooperate with our products and internal engineering teams to provide expert advice on the effects of the general policy related to the operation of new products.
This is a highly influential role for a person who understands both the technical scene and the policy-making process-who wants to help build a better internet.
Since this role includes working with multiple partners through teams, geography and Mozilla entities, management of strong projects and organizational skills will be necessary.
What will you do:
- Communicate with policy makers, organizers and other interests to defend policy frameworks that support open web products initiatives and Mozilla. Focus on issues including privacy, artificial intelligence, and market fairness.
- Mozilla is represented in external forums, industry groups, and other public places on politics issues, and ensuring the connection of our views accurately and effectively.
- Observing, analyzing and internally communicating on emerging policy issues, organizational developments and global trends that affect Mozilla products and services.
- A partner with the members of the internal team to collect and analyze the developments of public policy at the state and state level.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the main internal collaborators to ensure the inclusion of public policy considerations in the product development process.
- Work with colleagues at the international level to help forming unified positions and planning our supreme issues.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, brief and implemented visions and recommendations.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; Advanced degree prefer.
- 5 years of experience working on technology policy, preferably in the corporate environment. Experience in the preferred artificial intelligence policy.
- Deep attention to the effect of technology on people’s lives and plays the role of its formation.
- Strong negotiating and call skills, with a busy record of effective external representation.
- Excellent multi -function skills with experience working with international teams and a variety of collaborators.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities with great interest in detail, and prompt projects to successfully finish.
- Strong writing skills in writing policies, research and analysis is to communicate the main information to decision makers.
- Efficiency in Google Suite, Slack and Zoom.
