The history section of King’s College London is an internationally recognized center to study the history of the world. Our university curriculum presents students to the history of the world from the early Middle Ages to the present time; Then it provides students with paths to study each continent during the second and last years. Providing our MA is similarly broad, as students experience in modern and modern medieval history. We are an intellectual home to scientists every region in the world, who use methods ranging from local micro -staples to a wide range. We especially appreciate the conversation between different periods of periods and places, with different ways.

About the role:

The Ministry of History seeks to appoint a lecturer in the history of modern modern Europe and the world. The Post is a five -year date, starting from January 1, 2026. The result of the ERC grant is arised to Professor Francisco Beetnkort. Postholder is expected to implement teaching and research in European history and the early modern world. PostHolder responsibilities will include teaching units that would have been delivered by Professor Bethengourt, specifically units around the history of the world 1500-1900, the European expansion 1500-1800, and the modern and modern visual culture. Postholder is also expected to contribute to surveying units and graduate studies for graduate studies and graduate studies, and to the administration management.

The strong research record, excellent educational ability, skills of dealing with others and a cooperative spirit are necessary for this role.

The post is fully funded by ERC, which is not renewable.

This is a full -time post (35 hours a week) and a specific contract will be submitted in the specified term until December 31, 2030.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to get the following skills and experience:

Basic standards

  • Doctorate qualified in the field of the relevant topic
  • Excellent research experience and registration in European and/or modern history, in relation to the functional stage
  • The ability to teach university units and postgraduate studies in the history of the first university stage in European history and the early modern world
  • Dur -role teaching experience
  • The ability to involve students, and support their learning and well -being through their testimony
  • Some experience in effective, unitary academic management, academic networks and/or external
  • Evidence of a cooperative spirit, and the ability to work the team and enthusiasm to participate with other colleagues

Desired criteria

  • Student teaching and support experience at the graduate levels
