The National Arts Club (NAC) is a unique mixture of an organic club/special food eating and a cultural institution that is not intended for profit 501 (C) (3) open to the public. Through the task of motivating, enhancing public interest in arts and educating all people in fine arts, NAC offers more than 150 free multidisciplinary programs for the audience every year. NAC exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances, lectures, and readings reach an annual audience of more than 30,000 members, neighbors and visitors, indicating the role of Nac as an important center of art in the heart of Manhattan.

The National Arts Club was established in 1898 by the author and poet Charles de Kai, literary critic and art for New York Times. In 1906, NAC acquired the historic Samuel Tilden Palace in Gramercy Park South, two houses built in the 1940s, and has now identified a national historical landmark. Recently, NAC has committed to updating Tilden Palace and increased access to all visitors.

Over the years, membership of the National Arts Club included a distinguished list of writers and artists and visual artists and their university artists, along with philanthropists, sponsors and art lovers of all ages. Today, NAC rules a conservative council of 21 members and has an annual operating budget of $ 9 million. The Board of Directors and 2000 members and employees embrace approximately 70 and participate in the basic values ​​of the National Art Club: society, creativity, respect, integrity, transparency, and courage.

Opportunity

The next CEO will have the opportunity to lead an organic organization on 127 years as a place for meetings, a dining club, and a place for both performance and visual arts for members and public public alike. The Executive Director (ED) will bring leadership, vision and supervision of all aspects of the organization in close cooperation with the Governor Council and the volunteer and membership programs committees. ED will lead the NAC fundraising efforts, increase NAC’s participation with the cultural societies of the city, and enhance the private club partnerships.

Position

Executive Director of the National Club of the Arts responsible and accountability for the advancement of the club’s task, its clarity and its long -term sustainability. By reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO works with the Chairman of the Board, the full governor’s board, the volunteers committees in the club, the general manager, employees, and NAC members to set strategic priorities, resource cultivation, and ensure compatibility with the club’s non -profit task during honoring its traditions and society. ED plays a major role in raising the NAC file within the cultural scene of New York City, and in attracting new members and fans of its programs and donors to support these programs.

As the head of fundraising at NAC, the CEO is responsible for developing and maintaining a culture of charitable business throughout the organization and with the stakeholders. The CEO is the main external representative of the National Club of Art with the Artistic and Cultural Society, the government, the business community, and charitable organizations throughout the city, the state, at the national and international levels. With the Board of Governors, the Executive Director ensures that NAC has the resources needed to ensure the preservation of the historic Nac home, the growth of its artistic programming, and the cultivation of the partnerships of society and the donors.

The Executive Director participates, supervises, stimulates and evaluates a high -performance professional team that includes the general manager, the control unit, the marketing and communications director, coordinator and the development team. ED guarantees that the general manager has the necessary resources to maintain club facilities, financial factory, food services, beverages and extensive hospitality. ED instills and maintains a positive internal spirit between employees, council and membership.

Since the Executive Director is the visual actor of the National Club of Arts with internal, external and society stakeholders, it is expected that ED NAC and other meetings and cultural events throughout the city, including events that occur in the evening and weekend holidays.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will combine internal management skills with the ability to enhance and develop external relations with artists, arts organizations and financiers. The candidate will have a successful previous experience in executive positions and administrative positions, preferably with non -profit organizations based on the task in the arts or historical memorization. Since the candidate will serve as the general face of NAC, the experience of creating links and enhancing relations with charitable societies, arts and memorization is necessary. The previous experience in work in New York City, although it is not required, will be considered one of the assets.

A successful candidate will have a clear record of success as collecting donations from individuals and institutional donors. The candidate will have experience working with councils, employees and volunteers to develop a strategy, build consensus, and achieve financial and operational goals. The candidate will have a great experience in project management.

A successful candidate will have strong skills between people and leadership, with a capacity to motivate employees and volunteers. ED will be a person with integrity and high moral standards. ED will have the style of cooperative, servants, deep personal belief in power, value and importance of arts.

compensation

The salary range for this position ranges from $ 275,000 to $ 325,000. The National Arts Club offers a package of competitive benefits that include medical benefits, a deferred compensation/compensation plan, all legal benefits, and a discretionary reward.
