About the post:
The digital archive specialist, a member of the heritage group team, plays a major role in preserving, developing and developing RCSI digital heritage groups and contributing to public sermon, online and subject, which uses heritage materials to support RCSI organizational goals. By working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, the postal holder acquires and treats historical and institutional digital groups in favor of RCSI and future users of groups.
Job responsibilities
- Communicate with the internal stakeholders in RCSI to determine digital materials to maintain permanent in the college archive and create operations to transfer them to RCSI heritage groups.
- Coordination and pledge all aspects of the management and development of digital groups, including acquisition, evaluation, indexing, digitization and preserving digital organisms.
- Maintaining and developing an attractive presence online for RCSI to increase awareness and facilitate the use of groups including web pages for heritage groups, digirvica groups and content on the arts page of RCSI and cultural websites.
- Leadership/Support/Participate in Heritage Promotion and Marketing Activities.
- It leads to a review and purchase of group management systems for RCSI Heritage groups in conjunction with RCSI IT and the digital library coordinator for services and services.
- It leads to the development and documentation of digital groups operations and procedures, and to determine continuous improvement opportunities.
- RCSI dignity program management, including: giving priority to materials for digitization according to the agreed standards; Communication with relevant third -party service providers; Quality management for digital delivery.
- Indexing groups for recognized standards, providing appropriate descriptive data to help research and retrieve and discover digital objects by users.
- Marketing and promotion of groups through public participation activities as necessary, for example, online exhibitions, conversations, participation in cooperative participation, union for digital groups, etc.
- Ensuring the appropriate safety for digital groups in conjunction with them and sellers
- Responding to internal and public inquiries regarding groups.
- Supervising the library assistant, trainees and volunteers from time to time.

Knowledge and experience – (basic):
- A qualified graduate studies recognized in archive management, archive management, records or digital preservation.
- The ability to be flexible, tolerance of ambiguity, adaptation to change, takes initiative and leading projects with minimal supervision with work cooperatively showed.
- The experience of managing large or complex data collections and excellent attention to detail showed.
- Knowledge of the standards of descriptive data to describe the archives, for example ISAD (G), and digital resources for example, Dublin Core.
- Knowing the principles of digital memorization standards, for example, OAIS, and an experiment that has shown in managing and using absorption, preserving them, deportation, access and biographies associated with a digital warehouse environment.
- Experience in the management of content management and assembly systems, for example, for managing the catalog, digital conservation, and digital asset management.
- Knowing the standards of record management, retaining records and behaviors, politics and technical issues related to digital records.
- General participation experience related to cultural heritage, marketing or communications
- Excellent IT skills, with strong efficiency in MS 365 applications including Excel and SharePoint.
- Experience in managing digitization and purchasing digitization services by third parties.
- Strong organizational skills, project management and administrative skills with the ability to focus, set goals, produce results, make decisions, and meet the final dates.
- The ability to work efficiently on your own initiative.
- Book and oral communication skills are excellent.
Desired skills
- Task automation and data processing experience using the command line interface or programming languages ​​such as Python, Powershell
- Experiment to the use of Proservica and Axiell Calm.
