Overview of the departments
Lawrence Science Hall is the General Science Center at the University of California in Berkeley. Our mission is to inspire and engage through scientific discovery and learning in methods of progress and opportunity. We do this by working with the masses that include learners, who test our programs and products; Teachers, who work inside and outside school places; Partners, who conduct research, build the ability to learn, and transform education systems. The research lies in everything we do, and we design all our programs and products to have a great impact outside the walls of Lawrence.
Since founded in 1968, Lawrence has been at the forefront of scientific learning, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Lawrence is unique among science centers because it is an educational laboratory. We design, develop and study a wide range of educational, technology, engineering and mathematics programs for youth, families and adults from various backgrounds in our specialized facilities and through the partnerships of our society. Our areas and partnerships provide unique opportunities for public participation, learning, curricula, educational materials, vocational learning, research research, education, and paths towards STEM professions. We publish and increase effective and innovative learning programs and materials with ways to expand participation in STEM and have a local, national and global impact.
Summary of the situation
The Lawrence Hall of Science is the University of California, the Public Science Center in Berkeley, serving more than 170,000 visitors on the site every year. Individually and as part of the team, this position includes the efforts of the leading science center to involve societies, as it is, in the opportunities for practical, available and available learning. This position includes the planning, implementation and presentation of educational programs (scientific performances, festivals and workshops) that enhance the understanding of the school group and the home school for the public and the diversity of STEM, as well as supporting the understanding of teachers for the science of effective scientific teaching principles.

Responsibilities
- Under General Supervision, Carries, and the presentation of community educational programs and activities.
- It runs the volunteer -backed education initiatives and contributes to the development of new educational materials and programming.
- Supports the implementation and growth of educational programs that generate revenue by conducting communication with schools and community partners, enhancing software offers, and providing inputs on pricing and budget planning.
- It cooperates with marketing and development teams to expand the program’s vision and reach revenue goals.
- It tracks the scales of participation and revenues to support the evaluation of the program and continuous improvement.
- Participants are looking to enhance the delivery of the program and the results.
- Track and maintain the required papers related to the program, stock, activity reports, and other documents.
- Participates in the training and development activities approved to learn and maintain the efficiency of the program and the subject.
- It may serve as a work leader for teachers, professionals, or volunteers at the lowest level.
- It may provide training or guidance for volunteers.
Required qualifications
- The experience of developing and facilitating informal (virtual and personal) educational programs focused on science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics.
- Practical knowledge of informal educational educational techniques, including knowledge of best practices to involve learners in a variety of learning experiences.
- It has an excellent verbal presentation and speaking skills in front of the audience, especially for large groups of mixed age.
- Knowledge of content in science, engineering, technology, mathematics and/or educational education.
- Intermediate skill in using business programs systems to finish work tasks; IE, Google Suite, Monday.com, Excel, etc.
- It has the ability to quickly create a relationship with a variety of societies, agents, stages, backgrounds and family units to create a comprehensive educational environment.
- Knowing the work of the current community education programs and trends.
- Having excellent customer service skills, whether for internal or external clients.
- The physical ability to capture and carry the boxes short distances (up to 50 lbs) and download/unload heavy vehicles on a truck.
- Physical ability to drive large shipping trucks for up to 4 hours (including stays overnight on long -distance awareness destinations) when needed.
- The ability to work in evenings and weekends when needed.
- Continuous education in the relevant field.
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant area and/or experience/equivalent training.

Under the California Law, the University of California, Berkeley must provide a reasonable estimate of the scope of compensation for this role and should not provide a salary outside the scope published in this job announcement. This range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, education, licensing and certificates, internal shares analysis, and other commercial and organizational needs. It is not customary for a salary to be offered in or near the top of the range. Salary offers are determined based on final candidates’ qualifications and expertise.
The budget -ranging courier range that the university expects to pay for this position is $ 25.48 – $ 28.35.
