Introduction to the company

The context is an international travel company, founded in 2003, which frustrates the transformative power of learning – on the ground and online.

Over the course of two decades, we have made tours led by researchers in 60 cities worldwide, guided by doctoral experts who go below the surface to explore art, history and culture. In March 2020, we launched a context to learn to bring our commercial experiences directed to experts to the online masses around the world. The depth of our society is wonderful. Many customers extend over multiple generations, which confirms the permanent call for our tours. Some families discovered us for the first time when the ancestors brought teenagers two decades ago. These teenagers are now parents who offer their children – they create a multi -generational heritage with context.

The context is confusing and rebuilding its actions on the ground with a focus on small experiences led by experts, so we humans can provide our ability to meet through the difference-and expand his hand.

Our team

We are a small team with great tendencies that extend to the end of modern 15 -year -old (RAILS 8 + Hotwire). We practice the shape – from framing to the formation to betting on construction and returning to the frame. You will work closely with the product (without ticket waterfalls), has a large part of the stack, and watch your business with real travelers and experts.
We are far away between at least 4 hours of overlap with us in East time. No meetings by default. We connect when it is useful, just write tests, and practice proof before publishing: We say that after we have shown it in this field.

This role

We employ a large developer experienced with strong products instincts.

• You will join a small and fruitful team building tools that help curious travelers to learn through experts -led experiences.
• You have a deep experience with Ruby on Rails as a full work frame, as well as strong fluency in Javascript, HTML and CSS.
• We run Rails Monolith (Rails 8) with Hotwire – we enjoy the leverage of one person’s frame.
• We spread on Heroku via pipelines, use CI’s GitHub procedures, maintain UAT environments and production with a pragmatic test strategy.

Required qualifications

• You are positive, thoughtful and emotional – and a clear writer (or determined to become one).
• You are a self -manager. We form projects with clear and delicious problems (not ticket waterfalls), and to lead the preferences needed for shipment.
• You are rational: it is not “work” until it falls, it can be observed, and changes the results.
• You contribute to the formation of technology in the foreground – so that the product offers can make the audio bodies and domain projects appropriately.
• I have built and maintained production web applications on Ruby on Rails.
• I have expanded the scope of web applications and kept the availability and time.
• You have a strong understanding of OO’s design principles.
• The mechanical tests and TDD are valued.
• You understand the full webcam – POSTGRESQL, background functions, temporary storage, observation, and performance.
• You are comfortable with Git and GitHub Flow.
• I have built and maintained CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub + Heroku procedures).
• We are far away first. We ask for at least 4 hours overlap with us at East time (ET).
• We are Lean team: you will charge across the stack, decrease when it is useful, and pays the comprehensive small repetitions.

• You have been built (or have been useful). Hotwire -based applications (Turbo, stimulation).
• It contributed to the open source.
• You are practicing – or open to – the husband’s programming.
• You are aware of the form (appetite -based planning, work in the form, betting sessions).
