What we need

Specifically, the education and communication specialist will support work, which is part of a cooperative agreement between the National Marine Resort Foundation NOAA Office for National Maritime Sins Focus on involving the public, through education and communication in WSCNMS.

Education and Communication Specialist will play a major role in supporting WSCNMS on behalf of the Foundation by updating and implementing the resort Education and Communication Action Plan. The chosen candidate will work with local communities, teachers, students and the public to increase the arrival and importance of the haven. A successful candidate will have a passion for formal and informal education, strong and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. The education and communication specialist will work daily as a member of WSCNMS employees.

It was appointed in 2021, provides Wissonsin Shipreck Coast Coast National Sanctury overseeing the maritime heritage of our nation in Lake Michigan, including 40 historical locations of the ship’s wreck. Participates in the NOAA and Wisconsin state administration, and the haven enhances the preservation of the Great Lakes through research, education and general participation. In partnership with local communities, the campus provides a national stage to enhance recreational tourism and heritage.

This haven is part of the NOAA National Sea System, which is a network of more than 620,000 square miles of underwater gardens. These special places protect some of the most famous underwater areas in the United States.

What will you do?

In this role, the person will be a creative and self -motivated thinker, with strong organizational skills and a passion for formal and informal education. As an education and communication specialist, it will be included with Sanctuary National Coast in the state of Noaa, and is responsible for:

• Promote the ability of the campus to inspire the preservation of the major lakes and literacy.
• Development and implementation of work plans and communication with WSCNMS.
• Daily management of education and communication programs with WSCNMS.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of education and communication programs.
• Create and preserve cooperative partnerships with K-12 teachers and higher education teachers.
• Establishing and preserving cooperative partnerships with federal, state, local, academic and non -profit organizations.
• Development of education, communication, marketing, communications, programs and tools for each of the topics related to heritage and science.
• Development and pioneer of workshops for teachers to enhance the use of science -based lessons plans in the classroom.
• Conducting the sanctuary and education in the centers of visitors, facilities of partners, and on special occasions.
• Daily management of WSCNMS and social media channels.
• Supporting the development of brochures, marks, exhibitions, web content and social media content
• Support for writing and implementing scholarships related to education.
• Coordination of the volunteer program at Sanctuary and assist the consulting council of the haven.
• Performing other duties, as required.

As an education and communication specialist, you are an individual who moves the task that can develop and implement education and communication strategies that bring wonder and value of Wissonsin Coast Coast National Marine Life to your fans. You have a strong feeling of initiative and work well independently and as part of a team. You will have:

Required qualifications:

• A degree that included or was completed by studying in education or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree in education.
• At least two years of specialized experience in education and public communication and/or scientific communications for public masses.
• Experience in developing K-12 activities, curricula or training for teachers.
• The experience of producing communication materials with regular language
• A clear ability to form partnerships with various societies and organizations.
• Excellent contacts, organizational skills, writing, and project management.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to details.
• The ability to perform under tight timing and forgery tasks and multiple projects.
• An initiative showed the ability to work independently and in a cooperative environment.
• Efficiency with the video editing program and photos
• ADEPT with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Prepare and the ability to travel to support the campus activities when needed.
• The required regular presence.

Favorite qualifications:

• Experience in lakes and environmental heritage
• Efficiency with the video editing program, preferably with Adobe Creative Suite.
• The work experience in favor or with federal or governmental agencies.
• Experience and/or knowledge of national marine reserves.
• Approved Scuba accreditation and experience.
