The Lancaster Center (LEC) is seeking to appoint a post -PhD researcher to the background of geological sciences, and the experience of theatrical science, for a specific contract for 12 months of February 2026, with a possible extension, dependent on funding.

The project will use medium and low -temperature heat data from Himalayas deposits to restrict the tectonic development to build the eastern hemalayas. The data will focus on the recent (unpublished) ages of Detractal Rutiles with U-PB and He PDRA will work under the supervision of the main investigator of the project (Professor Yani Najman) and the cooperation Professor Peter Van der Pick (Geological Sciences Institute, Botsdam University, Germany) for research, including data reduction, modeling, interpretation and leadership of research in an international counterpart magazine. The work will include data modeling using Pecube, which was perfectly implemented during a two -month visit to Peter Van der Beck in Germany, which will lead the modeling element in the project. Previous experience with Picop or thermal modeling is very desirable. The data has already been collected, allowing enough time to model, interpretation and writing for publication, during the financing period of this year.

The project is funded by the NSF-NRC grant, with NERC as a pleasure for this position, and the funds already in Lancaster.

The full -time post is located in Lancaster, UK, with an academic visit for two months to Botsdam.
