Summary of the job

The pre -artist (research colleague) will participate in the northern slavery actively in each of the center’s scientific and social environment. The artists, with the support of the Northern Slavery Command, will conduct independent research and create original works in one or more areas of the five delegation in the north of slavery that includes 1) Canadian slavery, (2) slavery in the northern United States, (3) a comparative study of slavery in Canada, the United States in the north, and the northern or other moderate regions, (4). Slavery, (5) the original black relations in Canadian slavery or North American slavery. Moreover, the research must focus on the anti -enslaved methodology/methodology and/or depends on a methodology/approach that is hostile to colonialism,/or colonialism, and/or anti -racist approach, which challenges the nature of European imperialism, the US euro, colonialism and its overlap between the racist logic of the Sloof Foundation through security.

Technical categories

Applicants can be active in any of the following areas or areas of creative production: cinema, ceramic manufacture, mixed media, paint, printing, sculpture, textiles, imagination (including novels, plays, scenario, poetry, etc.).

Basic functions

  • Self -directed research and the production of original works with the support of slavery northern leadership in one or more basic mandate areas in the north of slavery as shown above.
  • Activity is involved in the life of northern slavery, including work in our joint office area, attendance and contributing to slavery in the north and related regional activities and regional activities.
  • Contributing to the culture of conversation, support, and sharing of ideas, resources and knowledge.
  • Orientation and support for UMASS AmHERST students.
  • Provide at least one public paper, participating in exhibitions, workshops and/or podcasts related to your search project, when necessary, while he is in residency.
  • Write the content of social media about your search results and provide a suitable biography information for use on the northern slavery site, promotional and communication materials.

  • The minimum high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Applicants must show evidence of high -level creative creativity, a strong record of exhibitions and/or public participation, and participate in professional, academic, creative or community organizations.

Work schedule

Flexible table. It is expected that colleagues of graduate students in the joint office will work and actively contribute to the Northern Slavery Society.

Salary information

autumn:
1/1/26-12/18/26 (total salary every two weeks = 2,326.92 dollars per 8 payment periods)

Spring semester:
1/25/27-5/14/27 (Total salary every two weeks = 2,326.92 dollars per 8 payment periods)

A full date for one year:
9/1/26-8/13/27 (Total salary every two weeks = 2,326.92 dollars per 26 payment periods)

  • The current autobiography (maximum 3 pages) that deals with education/training, work of relevant course, work experience, prizes, grants, grants, event/exhibition/conference and participation, extracurricular activities, other creative results, community contributions and relevant participation.
  • Project statement (maximum 5 pages): Applicants must prove that their all -creative thesis or creative production, or an important part of it, focuses on at least one of the northern servants of slavery. The project statement must be written in the full sentence form and includes the following areas:
    • Page 1: Summary of the project (Avoid terms and write to the non -specialized audience)
    • Pages 2-4: goals; Context; Importance and originality; Literature review theoretical and methodological approach; Archive or initial sources; Impact and results.
    • Page 5: Table (Point Model); It refers to the semester (classes) required for appointment (the maximum academic year 1) and your plan to complete each or part of your research
  • Photos, Weblinks or Writing a sample: Five photographs of complete artwork, creative directing, films, or linking to the presenter’s website or writing form (maximum 12 pages).
  • A list of three professional references (name, address address and communication information).
