Researcher in comparative field studies (post -doctorate) level
College of Arts, Charles University looking for a post -doctoral researcher in comparative fields studies. As part of the project funded by Horizon Europe (ERA president in multidisciplinary field studies), this newly created pregnant woman will participate in the newly created center for multidisciplinary fields. Applicants are expected to focus on one of five regional majors: Middle East studies, Asian studies, Eastern Europe Studies, African Studies, Latin America Studies.
Basic standards
- An experiment installed with methods that compare contexts within or or through international regions, including the ability to combine the deep contextual knowledge of specific global regions and comparative methods of defining causal bonds,
- The ability to apply social science research methods to region studies, and transgression beyond behind traditional linguistic and cultural methods while avoiding purely global models, which depend on the theory of interpretation, avoids the theory,
- A complete doctorate in the relevant social science system, obtained more than five years before the deadline for applications
- High efficiency in the spoken and written English, Czech linguistic efficiency is not required,
- Sufficient language skills for a deep contextual understanding of the given global region,
- An international publication in the field of the region’s studies appropriate for the post -PhD position,
- An advanced and ambitious research agenda characterized by social scientific actions on a regional basis that addresses global issues using comparative methods,
- Advanced knowledge of methodology studies and social science research techniques,
- We expect a wider experience in a global region that extends to the aftermath of one country or society and extends over multiple national contexts.
Your responsibilities
- Contributing to the scientific goal of the project by analyzing the causes and consequences Critical current events From a strict perspective and a systematic comparison,
- Limited teaching duties (about one course for each semester for PhD and PhD students within the research of the post holder),
- Conducting an innovative and effective research that pushes the limits of this field, and cooperating with students and colleagues to grow a vibrant research environment,
- Maintaining a strong and consistent publishing output in the leading international publishing outlets (magazines reviewed, book publishers),
- Securing external research financing, engaging in more cooperative projects, and developing and submitting competitive grant applications.
We offer:
- Full -time work (40 hours a week)
- A two -year fixed position, with the possibility of extension
- The salary is from 2,000 to 2,600 euros per month (the seizure of about 1,600-2.040 euros)
