About the situation

The first director of housing programs is a leadership position in the Housing Department at the Ministry of Planning in Nashville Metro. This role is essential in the progress of housing efforts throughout the city by implementing a unified housing strategy and managing local, state and federal housing programs. The situation reports directly to the Director of Housing and Business in a cooperative manner with a wide range of stakeholders, including metro departments, councils and commissions; Local and state housing authorities; Federal agencies such as the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Main responsibilities

• Program leadership and strategy
• Launching and implementing programs shown in the unified housing strategy.
• Merging the goals of politics through housing programs and initiatives.
• Applying the best national practices in developing the housing program.
• Grant Management and Program Management
• Local housing programs and major grants (for example, Hud Pro Housing grant, disaster recovery grants).
• Project Charter, Budgets, RFPS, and financing applications.
• Supervising the work performed by contractors and sellers.
• Team and operational control
• Supervising and supporting housing program employees, including a housing programs and a housing response coordinator.
• Developing collective work plans and standard operating procedures.
• Employment management, performance evaluation, and training. Contact participation and cooperation
• The Housing Department is represented in public events, paintings and presentations.
• Cooperative work with internal and external partners to align efforts.
• The involvement of society and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of the program.
• Data and reporting
• Use data and comments to direct and refine programs.

The minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least eight (8) years of progressive administrative and administrative experience directly related to housing programs.
