Head of service provision

The National Library of Ireland (NLI) seeks to appoint a president to provide services.

The head of the service provision bears a strategic responsibility for the service of providing service to NLI researchers. The mail holder will be responsible for leading services to provide services through our material spaces, online, and hybrid and digital resources on the site; And for multi -functional participation to define innovative models and curricula to provide services in general, to achieve our strategic goals to make our groups accessible to all.

Duties and responsibilities
Currently compare to the director of the National Library in Ireland, the duties of the successful applicant will include the following tasks:
• It leads to the development of high -quality, effective, comprehensive and accessible services for readers, and working with colleagues throughout NLI;
Driving in the perception of strategic and operational planning to develop long -term services for NLI;
• Leading the service provision team, creating an effective work environment that includes good business relations throughout the team, and the continuous improvement culture.
• Determine the training and other opportunities for the continuous development of an effective, expert and proactive services team, to enhance job satisfaction and build participation with readers;
• Continuous review of services in a strategic context, and coordination with the heads of relevant NLI departments;
• Planning and developing NLI services in the context of important changes, such as library management systems and transferred archives; Enter integrated ticket systems; And enhance the provision of service for the newly born digital groups;
• Starting and creating changes in the service and policy to address new challenges and provide improvements in the service;
• Plans with the NLI’s main capital building program, contact and coordination with the head of real estate to manage and reduce the disorder, and provide the basic expert inputs about the opportunities provided by the new library spaces to enhance the reader/researcher’s experience;
• Run purchases, as necessary;
• Provides the standards management shown in the client’s charter, monitoring comments and coordinating responses for the comments received;
• Make sure to follow an approach that the user leads to the design and continuous improvement of the experiences that people use groups through the spaces and material services via the Internet, which include hybrid and digital.
• Create mechanisms for collecting and user currencies to make continuous improvements.
• Developing the shares of access to NLI spaces and services by communicating multiple methods of access, material and digital, and the flexibility of as possible to meet individual access needs within the current legal and moral frameworks;
• Explore opportunities with communications, development and exhibitions for NLI, and learning and programming departments to increase awareness of services and actual interaction with researchers in order to ensure that future services are flexible and respond in line with our strategic goals and values;
• Providing strategic leadership for NLI as a member of the leadership team.
