Microsystems Research at Newcastle University invites requests for a three -year doctorate inside MSCA DN project reaction to sustainable intelligence on the edge: Merging intermittent computing and nerve structure. This multidisciplinary opportunity is ideal for an enthusiastic candidate that eliminates advanced research at the intersection of low -energy computing and nerve systems. The successful applicant will join Research team Dr. Dominico Blasamo It will be supported by Funding MSCA DN for 36 months. As part of the program, the Capital candidate will participate in one or more of the projection during the first three years of the project, and acquire international and industrial experience and crossings in the sector.
In this project, we will explore the convergence of computing systems and intermittent nervous formation to enable the intelligence of energy -saving edge. Intermittent computing treats energy scarcity by allowing systems to work with intermittent energy while retaining the country through energy failure, ensuring smooth implementation. Merging it with the nerve structure, which mimics a brain -like calculation, allows low -energy and adaptive treatment. Together, they will constitute a strong framework for smart sensing always in restricted environments such as the Internet of Things or biomedical devices, where the energy reliability is limited but the context is necessary. This symbolism is a breakthrough in sustainable and independent computing.
Main Accounting:
Basic qualifications:
-Steel in digital design and computer architecture
Experiment with a FPGA development experience using tools like AMD/Xilinx Vivado
-Efficiency in RTL design with Verilog or VHDL
-Programming experiment in the embedded systems using C/C ++
-Ahf with controlled platforms such as ARM Cortex-M or RISC-V
A good understanding of the peripheral integration of the CPU societies and the concepts of the joint design of the devices
Using errors such
-Experience with correcting JTAG or SWD façades with standard SOC conveyor protocols such as AXi or AHB
Desired skills:
-Experience with examinations or retaining the state or intermittent computing systems
-First on publishing soft processors on FPGAS
Hallia with ASIC development operations, including synthesis and energy analysis
-Exposure to RISC-V Architecture and Open Source Costume as Picorv32
-Experience in Energy Estimation Tools, for example, Xilinx power estimated
