The Maize and Wheat Inventive International (Cimmyt) center seeks to employ a commercial support specialist who will be responsible for overseeing purchases and fleet operations in Ethiopia and may provide support to neighboring countries as needed, in coordination with the regional team or headquarters. The role guarantees that all purchases and transportation services are costly effective, and are compatible with CIMMYT operational needs. A balance between strategic coordination with daily active participation, and to ensure a complete compliance with organizational guidelines and donors.

The Maize and Wheat Inventive International Center (CIMMYT) is a non -profit, non -profit organization that operates within the framework of the CAGIAR Consulting Group (CGIAR). More specifically, its mission is to encourage, support and clarify activities to improve productivity, profitability, and the sustainability of corn and wheat systems in the interest of poor resources in developing countries.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Procurement Management

• Coordination with the project teams to determine the needs of purchases and develop sources of identification.
• Review and verify the validity of purchase requests (PRS) to ensure completion, accuracy and compliance.
• Resources suppliers, negotiations on contracts, and managing sellers.
• A set of requests similar to simplifying purchases and reducing costs.
• Follow purchase orders from construction through delivery and payment.
• Maintaining records in local and international purchasing systems.
• Support Procurement Committee sessions, preparing the necessary documents and participate in evaluation operations.
• Make sure the sellers meet organizational standards before innovation.

Fleet management

• Manage the Cimmyt fleet in Ethiopia, ensuring correct use, maintenance and safety.
• Monitor the transportation service levels to ensure the program and operational needs.
• Coordination with insurance providers to improve vehicle coverage.
• Maintaining vehicle documentation and use records.
• Support for the employment and guidance of drivers.
• Track the costs of using and report the car and make sure that the fees are accurate and timely.

Compliance and risks

• Ensure that all purchasing and transportation activities track CIMMYT policies, donor rules, and local laws.
• Maintaining a clear audit path for all transactions and approvals.
• Determine and reduce the operational risks related to purchases and the fleet.

Technology and reporting

• Use the ERP and Excel systems and other digital tools to manage operations and support decision -making.
• Preparing regular reports on purchasing and fleet activities, including major performance indicators.
• Send updates and reports to the main headquarters and management as required.

The minimum requirements:

education:

• Bachelor’s degree in purchases, business administration, supply chain management, agricultural business, or related field
• Related professional certificate

expertise:

• Six years of work experience related to purchasing management and/or fleet management, preferably in an international or donor organization.
• Working experience with ERP systems (for example, Microsoft Dynamics) and good knowledge.

skills:

• Efficiency in Microsoft Office; Strong Excel skills required.
• Driving license is useful
• It is fluent in English, whether written or spoken.

Standard level: Mharm 14

The minimum basic salaryBirr 54,708 per month

Conditions for appointment: This is the position of national employees (NS), and the first appointment is for two years with the possibility of renewal, depending on individual performance and the availability of financing.
