About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Open University as a great lecturer in the creative industries (films and media) in our creative industries school. We are looking for an individual dedicated to joining a team that develops innovative educational resources online in creative industries, specifically, to rehabilitate the new (Hons) films and media. The role will include driving and may include school management responsibilities.

You must be enthusiastic about our unique mission, and about working in teams to develop a diversified and comprehensive new curriculum and embrace the opportunities for distance learning. We welcome applications from those who have experience in teaching and developing stereotypes and research, and who can show the understanding of academic and professional needs of students looking to study and work in the film and media sectors.

In addition to contributing to the design of stereotypes and teaching within movies and media, you will be encouraged and supported to develop research and influence activities within the region. Although it is expected that your research experience is expected to expand our current approach, you must also have the capabilities, willingness to teach and contribute to stereotypes outside any specialty.

Main responsibilities

Teaching design and curriculum design

• Providing leadership and contributing to developing and providing high -quality curricula in movies and media at university levels and graduate studies.
• Providing leadership in developing and contributing the online stereotypes content and contributing to our basic values ​​of equality, diversity, integration and access.
• Supporting students learning activity by contributing to preparing assessment materials and participating in quality assurance and examination.
• Contribute to the offer of open university units, which may include: heads of stereotypes teams; Remote and train lessons; Inclusion with teaching, evaluation and mark.

research

• Promote the school’s research and scholarship file and faculty through the continuous development of the research portfolio and the impact of quality.
• Including researching our approach to enhancing student experience. This may include practicing research methodologies.
• Create an external financing income, when necessary, to support your search.
• Promote school ties with industry to enable cooperation, influence and exchange of knowledge.
• Attracting and supervising graduate research students.

Management, management and other duties

• Communication with the appropriate academic leadership and administrative tasks, and played an active role in the school, faculty and the wider university, as required by the head of the school. This may include font management responsibilities as well as specific leadership roles.
• Work as an ambassador, internally and externally, for the academic excellence of the school, faculty and university members.
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, practice symbols, university policies and health and safety arrangements.

Skills and experience

• Doctorate degree in the movie, media or relevant theme.

• A successful search profile, with evidence of grant requests and a record for publishing or equivalent work based on movies or media.

• Evidence that you are able to work cooperatively and colleagues, within the organization and with external bodies.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to work on the deadlines.

• Evidence of receiving research financing in proportion to the career path and stage.

• The experience of dealing with film and media organizations and knowing production processes.

You can live anywhere in the UK, but this role depends on a contract on the open university campus and includes a presence in the meetings of academic and stereotypes, which is expected to be present once every six weeks.
