Overview and responsibilities:

We are seeking to get a transaction lawyer to work as a maternity cover for a VP lawyer in CBS studios. This is currently a hybrid site that works partially in the Paramount’s Hollywood/Los Angeles. In January 2026, the role is expected to be full -time.

We will also consider employment at the lawyer level, depending on the applicant’s experience.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• In this role, you will be responsible for formulating agreements and negotiating on behalf of CBS Studios in all areas of local and international development and television, including services agreements for producers, writers, managers and actors, rights acquisition agreements, joint production agreements and other joint financing agreements, and other production services agreements.
• In this role, you will also act as a lawyer for some pilots and TV series, and in this capacity you will deal with legal issues for daily production and production production and executive studios in the studio regarding all aspects of television, production and post -production development, including the following:
• Cooperation and advice on contractual issues, clearance issues that involve copyright, brands, defamation and privacy rights, propaganda and promotional activities; and
• Contracting and analyzing contracts and providing risk assessments, including in relation to chain rights and derivative issues, and intellectual property issues.
• In this role, you will also be responsible for providing support for transactions that affect the need for acquisitions, joint projects and stock investments on behalf of CBS studios, and will be asked to help build and simplify legal operations, existing mechanisms and existing knowledge management.

Basic qualifications
• Dr. Forenes, admission to the California State Port (California lawyer) will be considered, and strong academic accreditation papers.
• 6 years of experience in working in a studio, network, or another entertainment company in the production of written TV, and experience with the union’s problems.
• Knowledge of defamation, privacy, brand and copyright law.
• A person who is superior to formulation and has an excellent oral and book connection, negotiations, personal and analytical skills.
• The ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a time -sensitive environment.
• Good judgment, cooperative spirit, and the desire to deal with new matters and projects outside the field of usual practice.
• The ability to work and communicate well with producers, other production employees, and additional departments, including commercial affairs negotiations and executives for production, production and advertising.
• We will also consider employment at the lawyer level, depending on the applicant’s experience. Lawyer JD and 4 years of relevant experience requires. The scope of compensation is vulnerable to change.

Additional information

Employment salary range: $ 170,000 – 195000.0.

The start of payment for the successful applicant depends on a variety of functional factors, including but not limited to, geographical location, market requirements, experience, training, and education.
