Be part of history. Join us at Cambridge to help provide the first multi -site experience in the world in the 7T MRI to convert severe epilepsy.

Why this matters:

Severe epilepsy stops working patients and social communication. It is dangerous and can cause sudden death or injury, making fear for families. For a third of patients, medications and surgery failing are the only treatment. But the surgery only works if we can locate the “lesion” with confidence, causing seizures. The current examination of 1.5T/3T MRI and FDG-PeT fails to leave patients who face the pole depth test, which is invading and costly.

Opportunity:

We have just shown that Transply Transmit 7T MRI produces the best pictures to discover epilepsy lesions (see our paper in epilepsy: https://doi.org/10.1111/epi.18353 And coverage in the press: https://www.theguardian.com/soCiety/2025/mar/21/new-brain-sccan- Method-could- Highle-With-droug-drucistant-epilepsy). Now, with a value of 3.9 million pounds from MRC, we install the new Siemens scanner that has been accredited 7T Terra.x in Cambridge and runs the final clinical study to prove the 7T value for health service in partnership with King’s College London.

Your role:

  • Development and improvement of 7T MRI protocols for clinical epilepsy photography.
  • Development of analysis pipelines to extract quantitative measures from our photos.
  • Working at the intersection of physics, images analysis and clinical neuroscience.
  • Cooperation with senior doctors, MRI and artificial intelligence experts.
  • Help convert the first global technology into the NHS service widely available.

Boy: Experience in developing MRI or MRI analysis.

a contract: Up to 4 years a specific period. A large colleague in the research available for qualified candidates. Sra case is granted based on individual merit. SRA (or equivalent) appointment is made, taking into account applicants who meet relevant standards and approval from the College Council.
