Kōreero Mō TE TūRANGA – about the role

TE HERENGA Waka – Victoria University in Witton is currently hiring a permanent member of the members of the Academic Studies Authority for full -time to take over the role of Tumuaki – the head of the school at a period of three fixed years. This role sits inside Teura Waihanga – School of Architecture at Te wāhanga Waihanga -Heahoa – College of Architecture and Innovation of Design.

AHORANGI – Professor or AHONUKU – Associate Professor will be suitable for the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be loaned to the position of Tumuaki – the head of the school for three years, after which they will continue on their objective academic location.

Main responsibilities:

  • Contribute to strategic planning, directing faculty and school members, and ensuring compatibility with the university’s goals and obligations of Tiriti O Waitangi. Providing academic leadership to support excellence in teaching, learning and research performance
  • Leadership and management of school operations, including employment, balance and facilities. Enhancing a positive and comprehensive work environment, supporting employee development, performance, and luxury according to university policies
  • It represents and promoting the school within the university and foreign affairs, at the national and international levels. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and other academic units
  • Ensuring health, safety and luxury practices throughout the school. Evil in professional development to enhance leadership capabilities and maintain high personal standards in teaching and research

Pūmanawa – about you

Main requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in one of the following: architecture, architectural engineering for landscapes, internal architecture, building sciences, or construction
  • A clear record of worthy performance in high teaching, research and academic leadership
  • A sound knowledge of the environment and university education sector
  • A strong commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, fairness and cultural practice in teaching, research and participation
  • The ability to engage in effective strategic planning and the development of the initiative has proven
  • Experience installed in leading, managing and developing others, including team building, facilitating the group, and mediation
  • Interested and promotion skills
  • Cooperatively stabilized commitment to colleagues
  • Evidence of the ability to help the university meet its obligations under T -Terity, Yaitanji
  • Effectively evidence of financial resources management
