Progress in artificial intelligence, data and calculations provide the discovery and development of drugs. Roch’s early research and development institutions (GRED) and Pharma (PRES) showed how these technologies accelerate research and development, and take advantage of new account data and models to push the effect. Opportunity
GENENTECH seeks to obtain a large world of artificial intelligence to join the Devita and algorithms Laboratory in the BAID section (Development of Biology | Artificial Intelligence Development) in Genentech Research and Early Development (GRED). Our laboratory is devoted to the progress of artificial intelligence research to support drug discovery efforts and targeted discovery efforts, focusing on the basis models on a large scale in research biology. We are committed to the leadership of innovation through advanced artificial intelligence methods with the real impact in the field of drug detection. The successful candidate will contribute to a research program that focuses on the models of the AI ​​Foundation, including LLMS and agents, and the final goal of accelerating the drug discovery process. They will intersect the research and engineering challenges of Amnesty International to build the next generation of large medical basis models on a large scale. They will contribute to developing advanced AI styles, including multimedia obstetric modeling, large language models, and reinforcement learning techniques. Moreover, they will contribute to the system design, expand and improve it through a life cycle of developing full models. The successful candidate will work in an exciting and multidisciplinary environment alongside artificial intelligence scientists, ML engineers and arithmetic biologists.
In this role, it will:
• Leading research on new basic models, with a special focus on multimedia, LLMS, artificial intelligence agents, and reinforcement learning.
• Driving and implementing new and advanced ML methods with applications for drug detection and targeted discovery.
• Work at the intersection of deep educational and engineering challenges, with a focus on system design, architectural options, and expansion, in cooperation with the MLOPS team.
• Publishing regularly in high -class ML places (for example, NeuPIPs, ICLR, ICML, AISTATS, etc.) and scientific magazines, and providing results in internal and external scientific places, conferences and workshops.
• Cooperating closely with multidisciplinary teams and making jobs via GRED.
Who are you
• Educational background: PhD in computer science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of the theory and practice of deep learning, as shown in previous projects and the publishing record in high -class ML places such as Neups, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, ACL, EMNLP, etc.
• An experiment installed in developing and providing innovative ML solutions, especially in the following areas: wide -scale representation learning, multimedia combination modeling, reinforcement learning, large language modeling, and artificial intelligence factors.
• Excellent Python and Pytorch programming skills, with wide knowledge of best software engineering, data engineering and MLOPS (for example, familiar with the code version control, high -performance infrastructure, and procedure for monitoring the experience of machine learning).
• A passion for writing excellent programs, system design, expansion, and improvement through a life cycle to develop full models.
Excellent communication skills, cooperation and problem solving.

The expected salary range ranges from this position, based on the main location of California, ranging from $ 167,400 – 310,800 dollars.
