There is now an opportunity in the Lever County Council for the position of Secretary of the Provincial Library.

The Secretary of the District Library is the role of senior management within the local authority, with the responsibility of planning and managing the library services of the Litrim County Council. The successful candidate will be charged with formulating the goals, policies and total plans to develop and operate the library service and will be responsible for ensuring the continuous smooth operation of the service and the coordination of both employees and activities. The role requires strong leadership, innovation, lightness of movement and commitment to customer service, as well as a high level of professional, cultural and administrative skills, which include a strategic and operational element, while ensuring value for money.

The Secretary of the District Library will implement plans to develop national and local libraries and arts, in addition to achieving goals on digital technology, Steam initiatives, participating with local community groups and organizations and working closely with employees and other teams to provide high quality library and cultural services to the public. The successful candidate will also be asked to contact the owners/real estate organizations/organizations, government departments, the public, the media, government agencies, etc., as well as interact with elected members and communicate with employees/union representatives.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to a member of the senior management team at the level of services manager.
