Role
We seek to employ an assistant/participant in enthusiastic and enthusiastic research in skills in qualitative research methods to support a project that searches for speech, language and unparalleled communication in people with brain tumors.
The post if part -time 60 % FTE and a fixed period for 24 months.

The main accountability
This role supports NIHR The result project (Searching for speech and linguistic therapy for adults who live with brain tumorsLed by Dr. Fiona Minger (speech and language sciences) and Professor Linda Sharp (Population Health Sciences Institute). The study was organized in two phases:
- Stage 1 Collecting qualitative data with people who live with brain tumors and their communications and therapists (SLTS) and other healthcare professionals.
- Stage 2 Co-Design workshops are used with the main stakeholders to develop recommendations for the enlightened care path.
Work closely with project threads and joint institutions, will:
- Lead contact with clinical sites to secure approvals and coordinate recruitment of participants across various groups, including people who live with brain tumors, communications partners, SLTS and healthcare professionals.
- Provide custom connection support during interviews, and cooperate with SLT colleagues when necessary.
- Format and conducting qualitative data collection (interviews, concentration groups) and workshops in joint design via two study stages.
- Specific data analysis using appropriate methodologies, and contribute to project reports and publications.
- Ensure accurate documentation of data collection operations, including approval and safe handling of audio/video recordings.
- Facilitate the participation of the patient and the patient’s public throughout the project life cycle.
- Contribute to spreading through presentations, publications and the activities of the stakeholders’ participation.
- Maintain an updated understanding of the relevant literature to inform and interpret study design.
- Inclusion of the university’s research activities, including research meetings and specific research discussion groups.
- Supporting supervision of university research when necessary, under the guidance.
- Monitor emerging results to determine more research development opportunities.
- Developing practical knowledge of university management and research structures related to the role.
Qualifications
- At the level of the Assistant Assistant: Certificate in Language and Language Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a Related Field or Working towards a PhD in a related field.
- At the level of research auxiliary: a complete doctorate degree or an important clinical trial in working with adults with neurological difficulties acquired with speech, language and communication.
