About the role

This role provides the opportunity to work at the forefront of extremist research in space payment as part of IAAPS-a global pioneering research center that leads innovation in fair payment and movement. As part of Bath University’s commitment to clear engineering, it will contribute to transformational research in fuel cell systems that help form the future of sustainable transport.

You will join an expert team to work in the digital twin for the hydrogen electrical aircraft system as part of a government -funded project in cooperation with a leading industrial partner. The role of regular work on the site will include the industrial partner, which is about 30 miles from the university.

As a major member of the project team, will:

  • Development and refinement of simulation models for aircraft payment systems using 1D and 3D tools to capture thermal behavior and performance.
  • Apply machine learning techniques (such as LSTM, K-Means, Reinforcement Learning, Bayazi Inference) for tasks such as teacher appreciation, malfunctions of breakdowns, and predicting the remaining life (RUL).
  • Design and implementation of hybrid digital structure, combining physics -based models with actual time sensor data and artificial intelligence components.
  • Checking the validity of the models and expectations of artificial intelligence against test data to ensure accuracy, durability and organizational compliance with space applications.
  • Cooperation through specializations with engineers, data scientists and industry partners to participate in developing solutions that are in line with the priorities of space innovation in the United Kingdom.
  • Publishing the results through high -quality technical reports, academic publications and presentations in national and international events.

As a member of research staff at Bath University, you will be encouraged to obtain at least 10 days for professional development of professionals per year.

A lower degree offer (grade 6) may be made with a similar decrease in responsibilities and modification in the job title for the search assistant, if a suitable applicant cannot be found to fill the seventh grade position. The applicants will need to be within six months of the date of completion of the training course and will be promoted to a researcher once a doctorate is awarded.

About you

  • Doctorate degree (or equivalent professional expertise) in engineering, applied physics, or relevant discipline, with a connection with fuel cell systems.
  • A strong thermal modeling and performance experience using tools such as Simulink, GT-SUITE, Simcentter, or the like.
  • Efficiency in Matlab/Simulink and/or Python to simulate text programming and system analysis.
  • The ability to explain sensor data and verify the authenticity of models in exchange for experimental or field data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and present research.
