Summary of the situation:

The role of the EW archive specialist is to preserve the history of the Notedam de Namour sisters as it is reflected in handwritten records, photographic records and antiques collected from administrative offices, residential levels, traditional and unconventional ministries, and individual decisions from 1840 seconds to the present. As part of the Eastern and West Unit, the archives maintain the records of continuous activities for Western unity and the interests of the sisters, communications, development offices, training offices, and assist the continuous institutions that sponsor them with their needs to obtain historical information.

Basic duties and responsibilities:

Archive processing:

  • Collecting archive materials from closing monasteries and institutions and putting them in the archive
  • Arrange and describe the previous California Province records and the monastery records
  • Arranging and describing the unconventional ministry’s records of the Sister’s individual manuscripts groups
  • Create help tools to find groups
  • Enter all lists of boxes and descriptions and find computer aid and Pastperfect database
  • Responsible for internal survey projects that facilitate use of a distance from the general documents of the history of sisters, such as the publications of the first graduates and the ancient negatives that can be printed for? Files of the older sisters
  • Copies of old annuals that are likely to be lost due to a faded ink or a bad paper condition
  • Work with AW Archivist specialist in the northeast with regard to reference and research questions

reference:

  • Answer the internal inquiries and the interior and external external requests to obtain information about the sisters and institutions that were previously sponsored and the case
  • Providing elements and records for internal exhibitions, prayer services, external institutional exhibitions, graduate functions, and institutions that sponsor them
  • Providing photographs and information about the biography of the jubilee and funerals
  • Site record update where groups are unified and transferred

Awareness:

  • Prepare presentations on the SNDENEN /California unit for task integration activities, conferences and website
  • Continue to conduct oral history interviews and work to copy and print them to search
  • Service in the Communications Committee and other committees as needed
  • Providing advice to the sisters who move about the unification of what should come to the archives

administrative:

  • Preparing the annual budget and archive reports
  • Supervising the volunteers, sister who perform tasks such as writing poetry lists, copying the 1906 earthquake messages and other projects
  • Preparing to participate in professional activities to keep pace with trends in this field
  • At least three years of work in libraries and archives and maintaining manuscripts
  • Experience with small to medium -to -medium scanning projects from documents and photographic records; Experience with files recovery from old electronic media, and save documents in the right media
  • Experience with the Archival Pastperfect Museum program or last computer archive catalog
