employer

Texas University A&M Department of Geology and Geophysics

The Department of Geology and Geophysics seeks a balanced program of research, university teaching, graduate studies, communication and service. The department offers three university degrees – Bachelor of Arts in Geology, Bachelor of Science in Geology and Bachelor of Science in Geophysics. We also provide a certificate in environmental and engineering geology. Graduate studies are presented in both geology and geophysics in both the Master of Science and PhD at the levels of philosophy.

Research in the Department of Geology and Geophysics deals with basic questions about the solid process and history of the earth, and this knowledge is applied for the benefit of society. The research programs of many members of the teaching staff are widely multiple, which leads to the lack of clarity in the borders between classical geological disciplines and also between basic and applied research.
