About the role – degree G (36 -month decade)

We have an opportunity for a research colleague to support the evaluation of the Al -Sanad Youth District Fund (YEF). This seeks to understand whether enabling people and decisions about their local neighborhoods can prevent children from participating in violence. The Endowment YouF (YEF) is a UK charity that has a task to prevent children and youth from participating in violence, and part of the government’s network, which aims to improve how evidence -based decisions in the public sector.

It will work within a federation from NTU and Liverpool University John Morris (LJMU) to support our evaluation of the YEF neighborhood fund through five “Hyper” sites inside Birmingham, Manchester, Norfolk, Iyivef and Bradford.

This is an evaluation of mixed methods, we are looking for a person with experience and skills in using quantitative statistical analysis, efficiency in using R Studio or SPSS, and a good understanding of semi -experimental research methods. You should be a strong parallel and be comfortable working flexible in the team’s environment.

In addition, it will be useful to have experience in conducting interviews and concentration groups with community members and practitioners, ideally, you will be confident in dealing with young people.

We have an opportunity for a fifteen (15) months research colleague to support a small team that is analyzed by secondary data to examine when and where young and children are more likely to risk dangerous violence, explore potential engines and risk prevention factors. This secondary data analysis is funded by the Youth gift box (YEF). This is a UK charitable institution that enjoys a mission that prevents children and youth from participating in violence, and part of the network of what the government works, which aims to improve how evidence -based decisions in the public sector.

We are currently looking for candidates with strong quantitative analysis skills, statistics training and experience in using SPSS/ R Studio/ and GIS for basic and more advanced analysis (slope and spatial statistical analysis). The experience of working with open source data, and with police forces and police data is desirable.
