The International Excellence Center at the University of Beiriore “Alexander von Humoult” encourages excellent research at the University of Peryore (UBT) and develops the internationalization of research and communication with the best universities all over the world. A prize of 10,000 euros

The donors will receive the amount granted at their disposal to cover all costs of achieving the project. At least one child, with an additional monthly family allowance of 250 euros. If successful, beneficiaries may apply for a follow -up grant called “Booster Grant” by the Bayreute Humboldt Center (the prize amount is 20,000 euros). This requires proving the successful start of the completion grant. Success must be documented in, for example, joint publications, joint workshop or conference jointly, or other beginners financing. These success criteria will be evaluated during the process of selecting a bachelors grant. Please see the app instructions for details.

International Excellence – Program Objectives

The center supports academic exchange across the current borders: between specializations, between different cultures and countries, between the researchers in force and the youngest. Moreover, the center participates in the activities of opening the research community for society and politics. Successful applicants will become beneficiaries in the center and benefit from the university’s vital research environment and its seven colleges. Applicants are encouraged to learn about the University of Beiriore Focus areas and research power points.

Bayreuth Experience – Cooperation with the local host

We invite those granted to implement their research projects in Germany in cooperation with a local host in UBT. Research projects must benefit from the candidate and the host. Before submitting the application, applicants must identify a researcher at the Perit, who aims to implement their research project. Local hosts provide donors with a suitable space for offices, laboratory and updated infrastructure. Requests are welcomed by all disciplines, despite the application of exceptions. This visit should be during the year after the official acceptance of the grant. After 15 months of accepting the grant, a report must be submitted. Therefore, the center recommends the strength granted to the UBT visit shortly after accepting the grant.

Candidate requirements

We give grants to individuals affiliated with institutions abroad with difficult and innovative research projects of higher academic quality through a very competitive selection process based on merit. Important selection criteria are the academic excellence of both the applicant and the cooperative project-for example, in high-end publications-as well as the ability to communicate with the University of Peryore outside the local host.

This is due to the regulations of the German Research Corporation, which states that the center cannot provide funding to enhance the resources of the university’s excellence group.
