The International Institute for Livestock Research (ILRI) seeks to employ two research partners on behalf of the International Institute of Equatorial Agriculture (IITA) to support the molecular description of genetic modified plants, including bananas and days.
ILRI improves food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries by researching effective, safe and sustainable livestock. It is the only one among the 15 CGIAR Research Centers for Animal Agriculture Research for the developing world. She participated in hosting Kenya and Ethiopia, and has regional or rural offices and projects in East, Southeast Asia, as well as central, eastern, southern and western Africa. www.ilri.org

Iita (www.iita.orgWith its headquarters in Istadan, Nigeria, working with partners throughout Africa and beyond to reduce the risks of the product and the consumer, enhance the quality and productivity of crops, and generate wealth from agriculture.
Main responsibilities
The situation focuses on the performance of the culture of banana tissue, transformation and molecular descriptions by PCR, southern scout, and maintaining bacterial cultures. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and contribute to continuous research in the liberation of vegetable genome and the promotion of features.
- Prepare all the cultural media required to convert banana and tissue culture.
- Help in keeping and hitting banana varieties.
- Keep the horses of the banana fetal cells
- Help in developing complications buds and hanging cells from banana varieties
- Help in AgrobacteriumBanana and other crop transformations.
- Help in conducting molecular descriptions through technologies such as PCR and the southern analysis of events released by the genome.
- Provide genetically modified plants in glass and regular watering.
- Help is to isolate protoplast and renew
- Help in genetically modified events in a screen house to assess the resistance of diseases
- Collecting, analyzing and collecting data for progress reports.
- Participate actively in monthly meetings, annual reviews and planning sessions.
- Maintaining the exact records of consumables, glass utensils and equipment within the culture of vegetable tissue and the transformation laboratory.
- Make any additional tasks or responsibilities as set by supervisors.
- Performing genetic DNA extraction from various genetically modified events, or any other crops for molecular analysis.
- PCR procedure (the reaction of the polymery chain) and QRT-PCR (real-time PCR) to assess genetic expression.
- Maintaining bacterial cultures and spreading them to see the plasmid DNA.
- Contribute to the preservation of the plant lines that the genes liberate in the laboratory and global warming.
- An accurate guarantee of data collection and analysis and saving records for experimental results.
- Help in preparing reports, presentations and manuscripts related to research results.
- Performing any other duty has been appointed
requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience for at least two years or
- Diploma in the relevant field with four years of relevant experience
- Knowledge in the relevant field and the relevant technical professional certificate
- Practical experience with banana tissue culture, cell hanging or any other crop tissue culture and molecular description.
- The ability to maintain detailed laboratory records and follow the protocols accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and time management.
- Excellent skills in personal relationships and contact to work in the cooperative research environment.
