The Doctorate Training Arch is pleased in southeast (SEDARC) to provide funding to the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for up to 39 PhD students to enter September 2026.

We welcome requests from talented individuals who work throughout social sciences to be based in one of the six higher education institutions in London and the southeast:

• Kent University
• Kingston University
• Reading University
• Royal Holwai, University of London
• Sari University
• Sussex University.

Research and training environments are strengthened by a global level of these institutions through the strategic relations of partnership with other HEI partner organizations.

SEDARC’s vision is to provide a transformative social science training experience that combines leading research skills training, high -quality for all, and an individual research project based in one of five multidisciplinary tracks led by the challenge. These include:

• Safe, effective and reliable institutions

Sedarc is committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) during the student’s journey, from the application to the completion of the doctoral program. DTP will retain up to 3 feasible scholarships for home students from some black and Asian ethnic groups and minorities. The eligibility standards are available to these factors that control the episode Sedarc website.

SEDARC PhD degree is 3.5 years full -time, including 3 months (or part -time equivalent). Students who do not already have a master’s degree in social sciences may also be qualified to obtain funding for an accredited Master of SEDARC (see Website For more details). Prizes cover tuition fees in the UK and provide a salary in the average home in Ukry on a full -time basis. Ukry has not yet announced the fees and salary for the year 2026/27, but for the academic year in 2025/26, the UK fee is 5,006 pounds sterling and the salary is 20,780 pounds (22,780 pounds) in the case of the application of Trgen London). The balance between the home and international tuition will be paid by the SEDARC institutions for the successful applicants abroad.

How to apply: Students must be nominated by a six SEDARC institution to apply for a doctoral program. Please contact one of our officials at the Sedarc Foundation you choose because each institution has a different deadline and a process of the institutional stage of the application process. The deadline for Sedarc applications January 30, 2026 in 16:00 (GMT).

Civilization: This doctorate is open to students in the UK and the internationals and it consists of home fees in the United Kingdom and salary awards.
