Columbia University libraries are searching for two governorates in the Department of Graphics and Archives at the Architectural and Fine Arts Library. Affiri Library includes a group of a group rich in architecture, historical conservation, artistic history, drawing, sculpture, graphic arts, decorative arts, city planning, real estate, and archeology, from all areas of the world and many time periods. The AVERY Library also includes three distinctive collections, especially: art characteristics, AVERY Classics collection, graphics and archives.
It provides reports to the coordinator, graphics and archives, and it evaluates, arranges and describes visual materials and archive groups related to design and architectural practice including: architectural graphics, photography and digital architectural design files. Archvist will provide public services and communication through consultation, reference, education and presentation; Assist Associations assist in acquisitions and exhibition loans, and cooperating with department employees in planning and coordinating departments activities such as preparing exhibitions, maintaining materials and working by students and trainees.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange and describe groups that consist of all types of formats (manuscript, graphics, sound and visual, photography, generator, etc.) where specialized knowledge of architectural designation and design process is very important.
- It evaluates and resolves the needs to keep the collection while preparing the materials to transfer the storage outside the site.
- Coordinate and participate in the reference service distributed for D&A and support the integrated D&A instructions for the course, public programming and communication. Development of archiving sessions specially designed for students who legislate in architectural research projects. With the D&A team, it is supervised by the reading room.
- It helps in the department’s department’s activities, including rating the archive, filling new groups, preparing exhibition loans and photography orders. Participates in digital projects and digital asset management at the JSTOR and DLC forum.
- It helps to manage groups throughout the period of life cycle, including space management and inventory control, ensuring a security level at all times.
With D&A Secretary, coordinates work for project archive and gas/trainees. - Participate in the planning and committee activities at the library level at the library level. Participates in COL committees and follow -up local, national and international opportunities for professional development.
The minimum required:
- MLS, MLIS with a focus in archive or equivalent experience.
Minimum qualifications:
- Experience in arranging, archiving groups, photographing and preparing them to find auxiliary tools of varying size and complexity. Efficiency in using different levels of treatment.
- Experience in developing processing plans, creating time schedules and completing projects successfully showed in a timely manner.
- Knowing best practices for digital materials.
- At least 3 to 3 years experience, archive groups processing.
- Knowledge of archival materials and memorization practices.
- Written and strong communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills including accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent skills in dealing with them with the ability to facilitate cooperation.
Favorite qualifications:
- Knowing history or architectural practice, dealing, care and storing appropriate architectural records.
- Experience showed the arrangement, description and processing of architectural groups.
I showed an experience with ArchivessPace. - Efficiency in DACS, EAD, LCSH, Aat, XML, HTML, Development of Descriptive Data.
- Evidence of professional activity and contributions.
- Project management and supervisory experience with various levels of employees and students.
