It will work as a post -PhD research assistant (PDRA) in the Burn Worster Group, within the Department of Chemistry at Durham University, which is located on the science campus, 10 minutes on foot from the old city of Durham. This post is available for 2.5 years, including the test period for one year, which perfectly begins by March 2026 (although flexibility on this date is possible). As PDRA in Durham Chemistry, you will get access to modern devices and facilities, including a high -performance Durham computer, Hamilton (15,616 CPU Cores, 36TB RAM and 1.9PB disk space). As part of the Northern 8 collection, Durham University members can also submit projects to BEDE from Tier 2 (32 IBM Power 9 Dual-CPU, each of which has 4 Nvidia V100 GPU and high-performance Reconnect). It is also well presented with calculation resources and you will be able to implement a lot of your routine work on our new allocated servers (every 64 core core unit, GPU Nvidia Tesla A30, 384 GB RAM and more than 24 TB).
Role
This post is fixed for 30 months, in line with the funding granted to PI as part of the Royal Society University research fellowship.
You will be employed to work on research led by the main investigator (PI). While this means that you will not conduct independent research itself, the expectation is that you will contribute to the progress of the project, by developing your own research ideas/adaptation and developing research protocols.
Successful applicants will be, perfectly, in a post by March 2026, although flexibility on this date is possible.
