In the computer systems laboratory, we aim to employ multiple doctoral students in national and international research projects in the field Software and systems securityIn particular in techniques to find, relieve and repair insects and weaknesses in the code written in C/C ++/RUST.

Topics of interest that we plan to work on

• Finding errors in the rules of C/C ++/Rust, are not based on symbolized rules, but from the rules of learning from the base of the code under test
• Fix errors automatically in C/C ++/Rust rules
• Improving the current fixed analyzes of the C/C ++/RUST code rules by making them to be developed to large code rules (very)

Financing
Our financing covers 4 years of doctoral research as a PhD student, with the extension of the possible fifth year, on any start date. As a PhD student at the University of Ghost, you have a total income (equivalent) of about 50 thousand euros/year that allows a comfortable independent living in Belgium and thus focus on research.

Required qualifications
Candidates have a master’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering or equivalent. Experience in any of the following is very relevant: software development in C/C ++/RUST, and knowing the principles behind the C/C ++/Rust tools (for example, Defuggers, compounds, software analysis and rewriting tools), LLVM, and Fuzing. Experience with Linux environments and software development in the context of large software (open source) projects is of high value.

Work and living in sang, Belgium
Ghent is a great and open place to live, our laboratory is a great place to work and start the search profession. We support doctoral students in the attendance of summer schools and participate in training abroad. Belgium has excellent social security and health care, which will have full access as a doctoral student. Each academic year, you will be asked to teach (usually) one course, probably a cycle on security (in English) or on computer structure (in English or Dutch).
