🚀 Memories are made of this – life and good (Ayoub 10:12)

revealed

Written by Cathy Pollard

Today is the birthday of our younger son. Last year, he requested “Butterfinger”, as he did for several birthdays. When you assemble the layers (a TRFLE similar to some kind), I smiled. Most people are likely to serve this dessert in a clear bowl or a trivial dish to show the layers. But I always serve it in a large stainless steel bowl. There is a reason for it.

About twenty years ago, when the boys were young, our family was worshiping with a group in Newcho, MO, and we stayed for the bow. This is where I tried this dessert for the first time and managed to get the recipe. Soon a family has often become a favorite. The first time I made, I did not have a trivial dish and ended up using a stainless steel bowl.

Now that our children have grown, I learned something about the emotional traditions: you are not messing around with them.

As you can see, two years ago, this younger son himself asked a dark dark chocolate cake for his birthday (other family favorites). I made it for him, but he surprised me by saying, “Doesn’t this chilled cake usually serve?” I said I just made it, so I didn’t need a cold. He said, “Oh, I only remember that this cake is cold.” And that is when I learned that he did not choose a cake for his birthday, he chose a memory. She explained to him that when he was growing up, that was usually the company cake. I would like to make it the day before to reduce the necessary work on the day of the company. So I was putting it in the refrigerator and this is why he remembers it is cool.

Now I know that the cold is this bun for birthdays because it is not related to the chocolate satisfaction as much as it comes to re -creation of a memory. I was pleased to discover that only small details can restore a great memory for my son.

Is it not surprising that with your children grew up, you create special memories without realizing this?

They do not have to involve parties, a lot of money or great adventures. Just regular things you do a lot in your unique home. Simple options you make regularly (such as chilling chocolate cake or serving dessert in the same stainless steel bowl every time) is reliable moments, this family that becomes your own traditions.

Some family traditions are very intended (night jam, pizza, games on Friday, etc.), but many of them happen without realizing this. Until your adult child from the deep dark chocolate cake asks for his birthday.

*Look for “deep dark chocolate cake” to find the recipe online.

*Here is a butterfinger candy recipe:

8 BebiesCrush (easier to crush if it is frozen first)
1 square Yellow cake mixturePrepared for all instructions and cooling
1 container Cool whip (Normal size)
1 (8 ounces) Cream cheeseRoom temperature
3/4 square Crushed sugar (I only had powdered sugar in a bag and guessed quantity. Ha)
1 square Pudding immediate vanillaPrepared for all instructions

The cream cheese won it to become very soft. Mix a preparation and powder spa. Fold in a cold whip. Put this filling in the refrigerator to prepare.

The tear cake in cutting.

Cut the layer cake, filling mix, butterflies in a serving bowl. I usually end up with 3 layers of each. Cover and cold even ready for service.

The first time Karl requested a bookfinger for his birthday!
