Job’s story is a wonderful artifact that helps to provide your team with useful information about people’s needs and take advantage of jobs to be done. In this article, I will explain how they can be used to create product and communications ideas.
Triple Strike Canvas
In order to show the amazement of the job story and to be worse than any foreign JTBD indifference – we decided to create our own fabric. We called it Triple Strike Canvas as a joke.
The important point is that almost every good working story helps “kill three birds with one stone at one time”:
- To reach an idea or product feature;
- To write a call message that transmits the value of the product idea for users;
- To determine the targeting to understand where and when to inform the benefits of the product idea.
Here is an example:
While searching for an online repair services platform, we discovered that employees get their salaries on the basis of the amount of work they do for customers without obtaining a fixed salary. Sometimes, they do not have enough orders to cover their monthly expenses, so they are looking for additional orders themselves without telling the employer. They are also afraid to punish it.
On the other hand, the employer distributes requests between the hands without realizing that they have already taken other orders in the same openings. As a result, work loses customers and the quality of work is significantly reduced.
It turns out that Triple Strike Canvas has some positive side effects. First, it helps to align the product and marketing teams about the user’s problem. And made them better understand each other in terms of the idea of the product and the messages. Second, you can use the fabric to facilitate the generation session in your company.
