About the role
This is a great opportunity to join the University of Nottingham Trent as a major member of the team that provides the English language for students registered in the BA joint program in Sino-U in media communications, and our master’s programs in radio journalism, media, globalization, museum and heritage development, with CUC University.
Your role will be to teach the English language for academic purposes (EAP) for students in the first and second year of the dual prize program for a period of 4 years, and for students in the first year of the master’s program for a period of two years. As part of the English academic language team, you will prepare and deliver EAP lessons for up to 16 hours a week on CUC campus in Beijing, support students through 1-1 and group lessons, and evaluate students’ performance repeatedly in the classroom and through specialized evaluations, and work closely with the co-critic and leadership team in the United Kingdom and China to ensure the success of programs.
It will be its CUC headquarters in Beijing, working as part of a small team there and maintaining regular contact with the NTU team in the United Kingdom. To support teaching and learning, you will need to be in China for a period of no less than two periods of 90 days as a minimum academic year, align these periods with CUC’s academic calendar.
If you have previous experience in teaching EAP in the context of higher education, the experience of teaching large groups of learners, knowing the developments of the curriculum, contemporary teaching practices, and the ability to transfer this knowledge to support our cooperative partnership with CUC, then we would like to hear from you.
