Job title

The Ocean Center at the National University of Taiwan (NTU) invites requests for a post -PhD colleague, assistant research colleague, or co -research colleague (or higher) to join a four -year research project that was recently funded about predicting a decimal climate using the Taiiesm, Lee et al. (2020),,, https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/13/3887/2020/).

This cooperative project – which was in partnership with the RCEC Research Center (RCEC) in the Academic circles – applies to improving the understanding and coordination of the decimal climate volatility, especially in the West Pacific and East Asian region.

A successful candidate will play a major role in designing and implementing model experiences using Taieesm, analyzing the counter -predicament systems, and assessing the prediction skill through the main material climate variables. This research will contribute to the advancement of the ability to predict in the short term and improve the understanding of the prediction of the associated Earth system.

Responsibilities

  • Design and performance of decimal prediction experiences using Taiesm.
  • Simulation simulation analysis and assessment of the prediction skill of the main variables (for example, SST, precipitation, blood circulation).
  • Investigate the physical mechanisms that govern the susceptibility of decimal prediction and the error of prediction.
  • Cooperation with researchers in NTU, Academia Sinica and international partners.
  • Publishing research results in magazines reviewed by the peer and the current results in academic conferences.

Favorite qualifications

  • Doctorate in Climate Science, Air Science, Oceanology, or Related Domains.
  • A strong background in the modeling of the Earth’s system, climate dynamics, or prediction -assistant form.
  • Experience in working with large climate data sets (for example, models outputs, reanalys, notes).
  • Efficiency in scientific programming (for example, Python, NCL, Fortran) and data analysis.

How to apply

To apply, please send the CV, including the publishing list to Professor Yooing Tesing tsengyh@ntu.edu.tw With the topic line The post -doctoral application – decimal prediction. The situation will remain open until it is filled. We strongly encourage the requests of candidates from all backgrounds and welcome international applicants.
