AECO is an emerging company that works to become one of the main developers, collaborators and infants of the revolutionary lands restoration of all over Europe and beyond.

Why peat lands?

Peak lands cover only 3 % of the lands, but storing approximately 30 % of global soil carbon. Upon depletion, they release about 5 % of global greenhouse gas emissions. Its restoration is one of the most powerful climate solutions – while also protecting the diversity of biological and water systems.

How do we make a difference?

In a sector dominated by slow subsidies and operations, AECO brings the speed of the private sector and cooperation. AECO accelerates the restoration of peat lands by combining the experience of restoring, special financing and digital tools. We build a platform where:

• Land supervisors receive long-term climate protection payments-without any cost and continuous cultivation options.
• Companies reach local, transparent, high -quality carbon and biological diversity credits.
• Investors take advantage of the verified green assets category.
• Restoration partners expand their impact through joint development, financing and monitoring.

Through the implementation of a first and more project in the pipeline, we deliver projects from sources to financing and issuing certificates and monitoring-a unified, digital way, and an external destination that has been verified. Our goal is to restore at least 100,000 hectares by 2030, and expand in the twenties of the last century.

Your mission – help us build the technical basis for climate protection!

To make our vision a reality, we are looking for you-the founder of the technician of all curiosity and passion for both programs and devices. With us, you will develop web applications and mobile app (primarily for Android) and make sure that our field equipment – from RTK GPS to water level records and other internet devices – works smoothly. It will also work with virtual systems and cloud ingredients such as postgres and Firebase databases, Docker environments on virtual servers, and open source tools such as OpenDatakit (ODK) or Geoserver, which need to be maintained and regular.

Whether Java, Nodejs, React, or Python: You enjoy developing software and want to deal with technical challenges and requirements in a practical way. At the same time, you are curious about new tools and devices, enjoying the experience, and helping our team find innovative technological solutions to make our task more influential.

In short: You are the technical link that connects our work in the field and in the office, and bridging the devices, programs and cloud services.

Your first tasks at a glance:

• Development of mobile phone applications
  • Help in designing and gradually taking over to collect mobile phone data – currently with ODK Collection and ODK Central, and in the future with your original application
• Data infrastructure management
  • Development and expansion of data interfaces between Google and Postgres
  • Maintaining, updating and developing the Docker environment
• Support and development of devices
  • Providing technical support and maintenance and expanding our field equipment (Android devices, RTK devices, mobile router, etc.)
  • Improving and expanding our technical field equipment creatively – from new ideas to practical solutions at work

  • Providing technical support and exploring errors and repairing our daily work

requirements

• Complete vocational training, computer science or geological information science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field
• The basic knowledge of software development (perfectly from Java, Nodejs and/or Python)
• Attention to mobile applications (Android, Cordova, Flute)
• Understand SQL Databases (Postgres) and APIS REST
• First experiments with virtual servers and container environments (Docker)
• Attention to data processing tools (GEO) such as the Open Data set (ODK) or Geoserver
• Technical understanding of devices (from standard information technology equipment on Windows, Linux and MacOS to Internet Things devices and devices)
• The motivation and curiosity to address a wide range of technical challenges – from software and devices to cloud services
