Pune: PMC has offered a job to Asawari Jagdale, the daughter of Santosh Jagdale, who died in terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April this year.The civic administration wrote a letter to the state govt seeking approval to accommodate Asawari Jagdale in either grade II or grade III post. Posts such as administrative officer, deputy superintendent, computer operator or clerk have been offered to her. Jagdale, who completed MBA in HR and also holds a diploma in labour law, had asked for a class 1 post of assistant commissioner.“The Pune Municipal Corporation Service (Recruitment and Classification of Services) Rules, 2014, were approved by the state govt. As per these rules, the offered posts are available, under which the appointment may be considered,” Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Naval Kishore Ram wrote in a letter to the urban development department (UDD).As per PMC, Jagdale submitted an application to the Urban Development Department, requesting employment in govt service. Neelam Gorhe, deputy chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC), also submitted a recommendation letter to deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde in support of the request. Acting on this, Shinde’s office directed the PMC commissioner to initiate proceedings and submit a proposal accordingly.The civic officials said that in her earlier application she did not mention any specific post within PMC. Therefore, through a subsequent application, she specifically requested appointment to the post of assistant commissioner (Class I).A resident of Karve Nagar, Santosh Jagdale, who went to Pahalgam with family and friends, was shot dead by terrorists. Many political leaders and social organisations sought special efforts from the govt to pay homage to him and support his family. Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament and Nationalist Congress Party working president, on Sunday said that the relatives of the deceased in the Pahalgam terror attack should be honoured with the state’s bravery award on May 1. She wrote a letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis with this demand. The chief minister has announced provision of govt jobs and also Rs 50lakh to each victim’s family.
