For its Big Billion Days shopping festival, Flipkart is working on infrastructure and tech deployment in 28 states, apart from employment opportunities, the company said in a press release.
The seasonal jobs created this year will be in warehousing, delivery, team leads and customer experience verticals. This will be the first job for 15% of the new hires. The roles include pickers, packers, sorters and delivery executives.
“With technology at the core of smart logistics operations, including AI-powered demand planning, advanced automation for sortation accuracy, and predictive inventory tools, Flipkart is ensuring that its supply chain is not only fast but future-ready,” the company stated in its release. Flipkart’s logistics network is expanding to 650 new festive-only delivery hubs in cities such as Siliguri, Kundli, Jakhar, including tier 2 and 3 cities.
There is also a 10% growth in women and PwD hiring across supply chain operations.
Additionally, through the Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), the ecommerce firm has trained thousands of candidates so far and plans to upskill 10,000 additional associates by the end of 2025, according to its release.“This year, we have strengthened our capabilities ahead of the festive season, focusing on building an inclusive workforce, expanding our supply chain people network, and creating more inclusive job opportunities in the ecosystem, backed by technology and sustainable practices,” said Flipkart CHRO Seema Nair.
